Thursday has rolled around once again, which means it's time to take the 'teds' to MELODY'S Teddy Bear's picnic. It is also my Daughters Birthday so I have chosen "Aunty Em" to take along with 2 little friends. "Aunty Em" was named after Dorothy's Aunt in "The Wizard of Oz" which happened to be my Daughters favourite movie growing up (we wore out copies of the video). Aunty Em is made from the softiest and prettiest pink mohair and has her vintage lace shawl and my Nana's crystal beads. Her 2 little friends came from my place of work and were thrown on the floor by little children who in no uncertain terms told us we could 'shove' our teddies after sticking a needle in their arm. As they could not be given to another child due to health and safety regs.these two came home with me. As our ground is still a little damp the bears are picnicing on the front verandah today in the sunshine.
Aunty Em has also bought along her best tea cup (no need to lower one's standards just because it's a picnic)
She has also bought along to share with everyone some beautiful Eudlo honeycomb fresh from the bees.
Aunty Em as the sweetest face and I don't know what pattern I used to make her as it was a long time ago.
She also has the prettiest pink suede paws.
Why don't you visit the picnic and see who else has come to play. Last but certainly most importantly I would like to wish our "Sweet Girl" a very Happy Birthday with love and kisses XOXO. Hope your day is as special as you are.
I love designing my own patterns which I have named Rag-tag Stitchin' designs. I design all kinds of stitcheries and applique for quilts etc. I love designing Christmas projects especially. My Husband and my Family and friends are the most important people in my life.
