FNSI November

Time again to join Bloggy friends for our cyber stitch in hosted by WENDY from Sugarlane Quilts.

I worked on my Heartstrings project. Finishing off the Dresden Plates.

As well as all the small hexie flowers.....

And then even though I promised myself I would not begin this new project until the New year, thinking about it has been driving me crazy......so I dipped my toe in with  some hexies......hoping that a little doing will stop the thinking lol!
So that was my evening.
Today I did a wee bit more secret sewing......
To lighten the mood around this years craziness, I made my families a little reminder of 2020's highlights for their trees......there were giggles which was great!
I also received some very sweet mail....this little woodland pixie landed in my mailbox with a beautiful card from friend Liz.....thank you xx
A little decorating has happened in my little house.....

I will share more later....
Enjoy your weekend.

Early Christmas Lunch

Yesterday I joined my friends to visit one of our group who now lives in residential care. We decided to take our Christmas gathering to her so we could all still be together.

Some lovely Christmas decorations greeted us in the foyer.....

We had a really delicious lunch and wicked dessert...sorry no photo....went down the rabbit hole too quick lol! Coffee and chocolates to finish! Delish! I think there may also have been some bubbles consumed....
The staff were wonderful and ensured we had a lovely celebration.
Here we all are. We were also joined by the sweetest little girl...Kays Granddaughter and she stole all our hearts away! She was so good and enjoyed herself immensely.
We do secret Santa each year and we also have a little gift for everyone.
I made a table topper in Christmas colours but rosy fabrics that can stay out all year round if you want for my lady....Moira.
My small gifts to the girls were tree ornaments made from my very  favourite Christmas French General fabric.

And what better way to use it than to give it to folk you love.....
I came home with loads of goodies.....ooops forgot the rocky road in the fridge.....its there truly!

And my Secret Santa was friend Sandra and she made me a gorgeous cushion with vintage laces, buttons and fabric and lots of hand stitching....I was very spoilt!

Also in my parcel was the most beautiful little print that Sandra found that she thought I would like and she was right...... I adore it!

It was a lovely day and great that we could all be together once again.....it is such a blessing to call these ladies "friend".

Sunday Stitchers November

Just typing November seems incredible to me.......

We all enjoyed our Sunday Stitchers meeting once again.

We had two birthday girls.

Susan.....

And Alison who was my birthday girl.....

This was my drawstring bag to hold the goodies....
As one gift had to start with your recipients initial I couldn't resist an Angel.
Especially a quilting one.
We had a little thank you to Cheryl who through her organisation of getting us together via Zoom helped us stay connected during our Covid lockdown.
There was an orchid inside the bag.
It was also time to help our friend Maria gather sweets for little stockings, handed out to the needy by the group she is a part of ....Knitting for Brisbane's Needy.
It was a great haul...
With our UFOS I am not sure if we have just been so efficient or like lazy me given up on the list lol! BUT......we did have some to share.
Alison topped the list.....

And Susan had completed her Postcards SAL and it is beautiful!
Linda's beautiful stitchery....
And last but not least Helen and Noreens.....oops! Which has now been adopted by another keen stitcher who will repurpose them.
At least they can smile about it!
I worked away on my Heartstrings project.

All the Dresden plates are now basted to their centre panel and are being stitched down.

Along with a few little hearts appliqued that has been my stitching of late.

We are quite steamy here at the moment and today the mercury again is rising..... causing the early morning walk to be quite a sweaty affair! A storm is predicted for later today.....hoping we get to enjoy the rain and no damage accompanies it.
So I guess Summer is definitely on its way! One lovely thing about living in the humidity ridden subtropics is the beautiful scent of Frangapani in the air at this time of year.....mine is bursting forth at the moment.....love them!
That's it from me ......I have some urgent Secret Santa...ing to complete....yikes!
So I am away....

FNWF NOVEMBER

Only just squeezed in....nearly forgot it was FNWF over at CHERYLL'S....phew!

I  chose to get some more work done on my Christmas secret Santa projects so this is all I can share......

It took a while and I finished off the evening with another little Heartstrings stitchery. I think that I am now ready to do the centre panel....they really are such sweet stitcheries.

Not very exciting for you.....sorry!
Thanks Cheryll for gathering us together once again.
These two little ladies in my family love to bake!

This year I didn't want a stocking stuffer that was just plastic rubbish, so I decided to make them each a reversible apron.....Christmas and everyday.

I have bikkie cutters,  patty cake cases, wooden spoon and a cake mix so they can get baking straight away. Also a little matching dilly bag to keep their bikkie cutters safe when not in use.

Looking forward to sampling their efforts.
Due to  Covid I really haven't ventured out to just wander the shops but this week I finally got to spend a voucher I received for would you believe Mothers Day!
So I came home with 2 new books....I often have books that I feel that I would like to have permanently on my bookshelf.....Where the Crawdads Sing is one of these.
I was thrilled to bag it on sale along with Graham Norton's new book.
I am a very pleased little bookworm.....thanks family xx
Thats it from me....I have a date with my pencils today.
