2019 Round Up

Well here we are on the eve of a new year and a new decade.....like all of you I suspect,  it's been a year of doing life......good bits and not so good bits. Thankfully the scales have tipped in the good bits direction more often than not.  I was very happy to round out the year with a visit to my Mother, Brother and SIL.

We had a delicious lunch made by my little brother.....always knows how to spoil us.....so fresh and summery......we ladies, played ladies and enjoyed a chilled Pimms!
An all round lovely day.
I haven't done one single stitch though as these are my friends at the moment!
So no wild partying for me! Just rest and some movies....nothing so enjoyable as a Summer lurgy!
I did do a little collage of what I have been doing this year both art and stitching......

No wonder I don't get to the dust bunnies as regularly as I should lol! Each project has bought such joy, learning and fun times spent with friends....or often corrupted by friends lol!
Thank you to all of you lovely folk who drop by my blogs, leave me such positive comments and to those who just enjoy reading my posts......it is no small thing to connect with others and how wonderful we can through blogging connect with others all over the world in a positive and caring way.
I don't make new year resolutions......never have! I do however hold wishes for the new year for my loved ones.....health and happiness. And this year for our poor parched and burnt homeland.....it's effected people and wildlife.
Heartfelt gratitude for the amazing humans who risk their lives to keep us safe.
I pray there is some wet stuff in our future to ease their burden.
Finally I  wish you all...... time doing what you love.....and with those who value you.

May the long time sun shine upon you,
All love surround you,
And the pure light within you guide you on.

Christmas 2019

We had our family celebration on Boxing Day at our home.
Beautiful festive food and treats galore.......rumballs from DD a Christmas tradition.
No.1 Son a Toblerone tragic was very pleased with his haul.....
Gifts from the youngest generation to the oldest.....Miss E and her fruit cake and Miss C. rocky road....Great Granddad was impressed!

We had remote control car action from the boys....Miss E. kind enough to lend hers for the contest!
Relaxing with icypoles and planning the next lot of mischief lol!
A fun day for all.......
On Christmas day hubby and I relaxed after preparations for yesterday were done and enjoyed a very quiet time.
One of my favourite bits of Christmas music was listened to and enjoyed with a cuppa and shortbread.  Tony O'Connor is no longer with us. I adore his soft instrumental treatment of Christmas classics accompanied by Aussie birdsong and Bush sounds......beautiful!

I am pleased to have another little sewing tin to use when the goodies are gone...thanks Kay xx
Santa bought me another birdbath to help our feathered friends in this heat and a new DVD.....which I also enjoyed watching on Christmas Day.
Rest day today....May even see if I can find my stitching!

Santa's On His Way

Hello folks. Just dropping in before  Christmas to wish you all the best. It's been  a busy little household around here with 2 Grandchildren come to stay while their parents went away to New York city for 10 days.
I had an expert helper baking cakes....Miss E. Did all but the hot bits and was so thrilled with her efforts ......she can't wait to give one to Great Granddad!
We then tackled Christmas Bikkies for Mummy and Daddy.....also informed me that she was having a "nightie day" to do baking lol! Just like her Nana....

Visits to the park were fun....

Serious games of skill with Grampy....
Mummy and Daddy arrived home today to huge excitement..... just in time for Santa.
Yours truly received some gorgeous additions to my Christmas decorations all the way from New York city.
My all time favourite.....Jim Shore...to add to my collection! *sigh* isn't the Nativity Angel just beautiful!  Very spoilt!

Love my new tree ornies too....the gold/red apple is from historic Macy's.
I have also received some lovely Christmas mail.
A beautiful Tilda Angel from Fiona.....she has the sweetest face.
Gorgeous tea towels from Sue with a darling card....some favourite Aussies!
The sweetest Polar Bear and beautiful handmade card from Karen...he is a darling.
And last but not least....another special Beatrix Potter card, all the way from Sue in the UK to add to my collection.....love it!

Thank you all so very much for adding to my joy this Christmas.
I wish you all the love and peace of the season, in which ever way you choose to celebrate....be it with family or friends.....large or small. If you are struggling I wish you comfort and blessings also.
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones.

Sunday Stitchers Christmas Party 2019

A wonderful day was had by all yesterday and a warning lots of photos thanks mainly to our resident paparazzi Helen.
Very  spoilt by all the lovely ladies,  a mini quilt and Bon Bon swap was our Secret Santa and challenge for Christmas. I received De's Bon Bon which was full of lovely goodies!
Here are the beautiful minis made and their very happy new owners......everyone excelled themselves!

I made for Sandi.....and also snuck in a packet of her favourite sweets....musk sticks! I really enjoyed making those little clamshell....fancy making another.

My beautiful mini quilt was made by Noela......love it so much!

It looks lovely on my hanger.
We had some lovely show and tell to finish the year on an inspirational note.
Susan had been very busy with this very cute Alphabet book for her Grandson.
A beautiful quilt also......
And some wonderful postcards to share with us from a swap she had had with friends.
Sandi also had been making lots of wonderful projects.....I was drooling over the gorgeous journals and pencils cases!
And the Tuesday girls had stitched tailor made wall hangings as a group project.
We then enjoyed a pub lunch across the way....

Poor Cheryl got chopped off in the photo  as she was on the end Lol! So she deserves a solo portrait.
I had to leave after lunch but I am fairly certain back at headquarters some very decadent pudding was consumed!
A very enjoyable finish to a very enjoyable year....Thanks so much girls!
Merry Christmas to you all.

Milestones

Very pleased to have another 1797 row done....

Next row I decided on rose pink....I had almost enough except for 4 lozenges so they are going to be a different fabric.
Santa's sleigh pulled up at my place and I now have 2 gorgeous decos for my tree.
From Shez....
So beautifully stitched!
From Maria on the other side of the country....
The sweetest wreath and recycling happened with the ring is from milk bottles....so cool! Maria also made the lovely card.
Such clever friends....thanks so much girls....I shall treasure them!
In our family....an important milestone....our eldest Grandson graduated Primary school and the ceremony was lovely....bit emotional for this sentimental Nana....a few tears silently shed.
Proud Mum and Dad.
Proud Grandparents
Gives you hope to see all these wonderful young people .....our future.
