Work of Heart

Recently I have had the joy to work on two art projects which were truly "works of heart". Yesterday I was able to deliver one to my dear friend Kay. She and I are lovers of all creatures great and small. Recently her beautiful girl ELLA went over the Rainbow Bridge. I was so happy that I could gift her Ella's beautiful face from my drawing pad. I have enjoyed many pats and hugs over time with sweet Ella xx
I promised Kay that I would post my other piece that I did for my friend Fiona. I had heard her mention her love of African Wild Dogs from her homeland and so wanted to draw her one....of course the day I wanted photos at Dubbo Zoo they refused to oblige! Thankfully I have a generous friend who gave me one of her successful pics.
I loved every minute of this piece. The hard bit was not telling Fiona and keeping my trap shut until her birthday lol!
Both gifts were received with love and gratitude. ...made my heart happy.
I had a lovely day stitching with friends over at Kays yesterday. Lots of yummy food and good company....actually did get some stitching done...a little bit more of Blessings.
Today I am playing with these from my stash...
Heritage Hollow by Kim Diehl.....I decided I had to stop loving them so much and start using them.
Ok must away. Enjoy the rest of your day.

A Little Secret Sewing Revealed

As you know I have been working on a little secret stitching project. The lovely girls down at Quirky Quilts Qld in Springwood asked me to design a little pattern just for them featuring a sewing machine as they have a gorgeous one in their shop.
Here is my effort...
I throughly enjoyed creating and stitching it for them. It's called "A Little Quirky Quilt" and you can only purchase it from Quirky Quilts.
If you are interested the shop is located at Shop 14, Arndale Shopping Center, Cinderella Drive Springwood Q 4127 or phone the girls on 07 33860784.
The girls really liked it and I hope you do too.

All Caught Up

I am now up to date with my Splendid Sampler blocks, finishing 12 and 13 yesterday.
Block 12 by Pat Sloan
Block 13 is a lovely block by designer Corey Yoder. Although I have to admit that there was a bit of reverse stitching on this one. My ability fell short of the design...lol! I am really chuffed that I got there in the end..
My secret sewing has come to a halt whilst I audition border fabrics and plot the next bit of the journey...
While I am pondering I have been putting in some stitches in Blessings.

and trying to find a way to squeeze some sweet little bears into my stitching time...
These are soooo cute! You are going to love them. ...if I can find time to stitch them that is lol!
Someone remarked to me that I get quite a lot of stitching done! My reply.....you probably can't write your name and all your ancestors in the dust on your furniture like I can lol! Not quite that bad but almost!
At least "bored" is not a word or state of being I am friends with.

FNSI and Happy Easter

I hope you are all enjoying your Easter. We had our family get together....
Some of us got a little bit silly...
Lol! Love this piccie of my beautiful girls...
The Easter Bilby visited so I must have been very good...
However......I do have to share!
Friday night I joined up with Wendy from Sugarlane Quilts for a very special Easter
I decided to catch up on my Splendid Sampler stitching as both these blocks were handwork. I enjoyed both so much. Thank you designers.
I  love the little tribute to a "Grandmother who crocheted" block by Alyssa Thomas. It reminded me of my own Grandmother. Pat Sloans cute little flower pot was very enjoyable to stitch and I decided to needle turn applique it. I still have one more block to catch up on and another new one tomorrow. ..phew!
Thanks Wendy for hosting us again and thank you for your gorgeous little bunny you gifted to us Friday-nighters xxx
Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your Easter break.

Show and Tell

Thank goodness for clever friends. Last night was my stitching group night. As I haven't had much in the way of stitching to show you they had some lovely show and tell they have allowed me to share.
Our always generous and beautiful hostess Diane has made this wonderful HUGE bag to take on retreats.....it is so happy and bright and I just love the ceramic button.
Sue has crocheted this lovely tote (which we all coveted greatly I might add)
Love it!
Monica has been doing what can only be described as "Extreme Ufoing!"
Look at this gorgeous sewing caddy from Faeries in My Garden.....front
Back....
Close up...
Then there was a very elegant travel pack...
A beautiful satchel for your Ipad..
This fabric was so beautiful, my photo doesn't do it justice.
Look at this gorgeous coat hanger!
Close ups.....Monica's embroidery is exquisite!
Now doesn't that make you feel all inspired. I love spending time with these lovely friends, they are such good fun and so generous of spirit. I am very blessed. Thank you girls xx
I would like to wish you all a safe and very Happy Easter. Please take good care of you and yours.
Namaste and Blessings,

Quick Post.

Good morning. Not a stitch to show....all stitching is "under wraps" stuff.
A little touch of Easter "fluffery" has however taken place......some little treasures.
Do you have little treasures that make an appearance each Easter time....
I  can also show you my latest little Scratchboard.....Willy Wagtail!
I love watching these busy little birds. I am attempting a slightly bigger one now. So many beautiful subjects to draw....if only I didn't need sleep!
Ok I'm off to tackle the next installment in Splendid Sampler....I may then at least have something with stitches to share.
Until then love one another...

March for a Cure. ....We Made it!

Well yesterday we did our special walk as a family.  Sunscreen was applied and hats donned....all set to go.

It was well supported and was a lovely morning for a walk beside our Brisbane River.
The  Grandies enjoyed themselves..... balloons!
The boys walked the full 4kms...
So a spell under a shady tree at the halfway point was in order. Lol!
Crossing the finish line.
It was very moving placing our flowers on the Australian map for remembrance and support.

Dear Daughter, Myself and Dear Son....
Brother and Sister pics...
We finished our day with a drive down to the bay at Wynnum for fish and chips.
Perfect! I believe several little people nodded off on the way home.
No stitching to report...this Nana was way to weary to keep her eyes open let alone thread a needle.
If you have managed to make your way through all the family pics I say thank you.
Until next time,
