Favourite Things Friday with Shay and Block 9 finished

Friday has arrived again with rapid speed which means I get to visit SHAY at Quilting in My Pyjamas for FTF. My favourite today is very simple. It is the beautiful soft Autumn sunshine we north of the border are known for. I have certainly appreciated it more this year when we have one of these glorious days let alone several. So just a couple of pics of sunlight in my garden.
I love it filtering through the palms......
The other thing I am really excited about is that I finished Block 9 of the Baltimore. The  basket was easier than I thought and the little 'album' book I thought would be easy was a lot harder. But I love the finished block and feel I can tick some things off my list of "I'd love to do that". Roll on Block 10.
The end result. I love how the designer Pat Weir-Smith included some wattle in the basket for an Aussie touch.
The little 'album' that started all this and it does open up and inside is this.......
Please note I have a finish date of this year so I have made a committment I guess. I am not unpicking it to change the date.
Happy Mother's Day
Because my Mum loves pansies  I have chosen the very sweet teacup full of pansies to wish all you wonderful women out there who are Mother's, Grandmother's and Mother's to others children a very special day.
"Having a child does not a mother make. Having patience, love, no sleep, every substance known to man spilled on your clothes, being a singer of silly songs, a dancer of silly dances, a drier of tears, an embracer of joys, a nurse, a soft place to fall, a walking book of strange and interesting facts, an A-class juggler of  daily life, knowing God made them cute so it would save their lives when you were at the end of your rope. In fact loving them no matter what.......if this sounds like you then you are a "Mother". Have a wonderful day.
To the two children who allowed me to experience all of the above and much, much more I wanted to say I am very blessed to be your "Mother"
Blessings Michelle xx

  15. I could do with some of that lovely sunshine down here at the moment. It's a bit chilly.
Your block is looking wonderful. I like the way the little book is created to provide the sewers name and info.
