Favourite things Friday and Floral Friday.

Well I have had a challenging little morning having discovered a tick on my body no doubt a visitor from the weekend.  And yes  I have had many showers since then so don't know why it went unnoticed. I had been feeling a little off this week but didn't pay it too much mind until the reason became obvious today. Thankfully it fell out of it's own accord but huge doses of metho were administered to the spot. YA Gotta Love the Aussie bush! Soooo! My FTF is very simple today ( I'm too shaken up to think about anything else) it's a comforting cup of lemon and ginger tea from my very favourite "Peony" cup that I use for every hot drink I have. It is so pretty but seems to have the right shape or something to make the perfect cup of tea or coffee. I would take it with me where ever I went if I didn't think people would call the "strange" police. So if I am blogging away or answering emails you can be sure I will be sipping or supping something from this sweet cup. To see more FTF's visit Shay at http://fairybreadmusings.blogspot.com/

Now I also have several floral photos from my sojourn to Springbrook....a lovely pink azalea, rosy pink camelia, I think a type of begonia, yellow daisy and an orange something or other (hoping Bronwyn will know what it is). The gardens are very much informal but these lovely shrubs were everywhere.

I think this is some sort of begonia??
What is this ????

  4. YUCK - I hate ticks - hate them! So glad you found it. I think they tend to move around which may be why you didn't notice it before.

I LOVE your cup. I have a special one too. And gorgeous flowers!

  6. Such a pretty cup. I think we all have our favourites and honestly I would take mine everywhere with me too if I weren't so clumsy and likely to smash it. (So many industrial dishwashers are apparently defective!)
Aha - to the matter if the plant. It looks to me like a type of Ginger flower, they do that sort of spikey, stickie-uppie thingy with lots of flowers on the spike. Very technical I know!

  7. Love the cup and yes I have my special one too and get quite grumpy if I can't find it. Lucky you found the tick and it wasn't one of those really nasty paralysis ones. My friend just had a week almost in hospital from getting one of those on her and not noticing it. Plant is a ginger of some sort I think as well :-)

  9. Yuck on the tick front, we don't have them in SA yeah for us. I have about 4 favourite cups and I rotate them until the dishwasher is full. Then I get them out and start all over again. Most of them were gifts from the sewing buddies.

    Pretty cup.

  13. Yikes on the tick! I can't even imagine how to cure myself of a tick bite. Your cup is lovely. Peonies are a favourite of mine, but alas, I have no green thumb to grow them. I shall enjoy yours instead. ☺ Happy FTF!

  14. I'm sorry - I know tick is not funny, but I can just see you discovering it. I think after that I'd need something stronger than calming tea!

I must confess to loving your cup ( I would take it with me everywgere I went - and not care about what people think!)

I cant help you with the "waht is this" question , Im the anti -gardener , but the pictures are just gorgeous.

A funny , and ultimately happy FTF.Thanks for having the guts to share it Michelle.

  15. Yuck, I hate ticks, that's why my fur babies stay inside most of the time, we have too many paralysis ticks around here.
Such a pretty mug Michelle, and my favourite tea is lemon and ginger.

  18. Ticks...ugh. I used to hike all of the time before the little guy was born. I was used to them. A good hiking friend of mine almost died from one. But it didn't stop her. She's still hikin'. Those little things are just nasty. Now you'll feel better with him gone!

  19. I hope you are feeling better Michelle. I know what it is like, having had a tick while visiting Our youngest son and family in Northern New South Wales, they are one of the downsides of living in the lovely Northern States, along with Leeches, I'm not sure which I dislike more.Lovely Photos of your cup and Flowers. cheers R.
