What's your favourite quote!

This beautiful graphic is from Rose petals from Heaven and you can visit this site http://rosepetalsfromheaven.blogspot.com/  for more inspiration. Anyway it got me thinking about my favourite quotes. I have a tattered old journal that I scrible down my favourites in. Too many to share all of them with you but I thought I would like to share a couple with you and I would love to hear what your favourite words or quotes are.
On Success Fred Hollows said:
"to laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children.
to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends.
to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better.
whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemable social condition,
to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived,
this is to have succeeded"
Jane Roberts said
"you must love yourself before you love another, by accepting yourself and joyfully being what you are, you fulfill your own abilities and your simple presence can make others happy."
Judy Garland said:
"be a 1st rate version of yourself rather than a 2nd rate version of someone else"
And finally Michelle said:
"I never met a chocolate I didn't like!!!"
What words inspire you?? I'd love to know.
Blessings and Happy stitching,
Michelle.

  1. Oh Michelle.... isn't it wonderful that we can find such inspiration in what others say.... I used to work in development and this was a favourite and is appropriate in all sorts of situations...
"If development of a progressive kind is not messy and conflict ridden, it is probably not happening at all" - well that is what I say about my creative space!!

  2. Hi Michelle, I too love verses and have a number of them but my favourite at the moment is:
'Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away!'. Not sure who quoted this but love it.
    Happy stitching, Michelle.

  4. My favourite quote would be 'There, but for the grace of God, go I'.
My favourite funny quote would be from Robert Morley who when asked what he wanted to be buried with said "A fire extinguisher, just in case there has been a terrible miscarriage of justice"
My most inspired quote was when my husband was expressing his anger over the accidental damage done to a good sofa and I said "Why waste your energy on this! Get angry about something you CAN change"

  6. I have several quotes that I love but this one is one of my favorites ."Forget the day that has been cut off from thy existence; disturb not thyself about tomorrow, which has not yet come, rest not upon that which is no more; live happily one instant , and throw not they life to the winds ." or as Eckhart Tolle says "Live in the moment"
Another great one is "What is necessary to change a person is to change his awareness of himself" by Abraham Maslow .
    Great idea Michelle , thanks!
