UfO

Good Morning everyone. I think every stitcher and quilter has one or many UFO's but I think my friend Lorel is the winner. On Wednesday at Stitching group we saw the end result of a lovely UFO.  Lorel has been working on this gorgeous project for her little Granddaughter that she bought "37" years ago. Yep!!! I said 37 years ago! Originally it was bought to make for Lorel's daughter. I just had to share it with you. It is just so sweet and Lorel has stitched it beautifully. I think she is a contender for the oldest UFO.
Goldilocks And The Three Bears ....
A little close up of Lorel's lovely stitching. Each little bear and Goldilocks are little dollies that come out of the pockets on the house to play with.
Isn't it sweet and you would have thought it was bought yesterday. Wouldn't you have loved that as a little girl....in fact I love it now (sigh).
The other show and tell Lorel has for us on Wednesday was her gorgeous Teapot Hanger ( a Nikki Tervo design) I really love this...well it's china so of course I do.
Sorry it is a bit blurry I think I am need of a new small camera as I think I have just about killed mine...anyway a little close up of one of the sweet teapots.
As for my stitching? Well I am still hand quilting....
I find it very meditative and am enjoying a little chill out time whilst doing it.
Stay tuned next week as I may just have a couple of new patterns available for sale.....
I wish you all a wonderful working week's end.
Also sending great big bunny hugs and kisses to our little Granddaughter Charlotte xxx

  4. Lovely work from Lorel. I have a UFO that is my Mum's. She started making a hexie quilt for my brother. He's now in his 50's but can't tell you for sure how old he was when Mum started it but it's around 40 or more years old. :) Hugs,xx.

  8. Completing a UFO brings a special kind of satisfaction, especially when you still like the design! Your hand quilting looks so good, I really like the meandering.

  11. I made a very similar pillow for my elder daughter about 30 years ago - dolls in pockets - I bought the kit from Family Circle. I love the Goldilocks and Three Bears.

  14. Beautiful work - well done to Lorel on her completions; cool that such an old ufo is still modern!! Your stippled hand quilting looks really great, too. (I really should hunt out my 32 year old ufo and complete that!!)

  20. Goldilocks was well worth the wait even if it is now a new generation! Would we be stitchers if we didn't have UFO's? I am trying to catch up on mine but there is always that new project isn't there?

  21. I think it is amazing that all parts for the UFO could still be found after 37 years. What a great achievement.
