It seems at this time of year we all reflect on what was left undone the year before or even the year before that. There has been a lot of UFOing going on in blogland and I have to admit to pondering mine as well.
I began this little quilt ages ago and even got the blocks sewn together but was stuck for inspiration on how to finish it.
I think as I couldn't get any more of any of these fabrics I abandoned it. That is so Michelle......I do love a scrappy but also like some cohesion in the finish. A holiday down south and a little visit to Echuca in Victoria resulted in some lovely red border fabric but still how to finish it has alluded me.....until now!
As I still have background fabric I fancy a pretty applique panel across the top...maybe a birdie or two and some blooms to match the stitchery ones....so my thinking cap is on!
Meanwhile I have been quietly working on Blessings and have the next ring done for Block 3....this is going to get very boring for you folks...sorry! Nine in the quilt lol!
But I am loving stitching these blocks.
Enjoy your day.
Namaste and Blessings Michelle xxx

I always tell myself my UFO's are put aside because when I pick them up again they are to be finished better than originally thought. As like you Michelle it gives you time to think of how you can finish them with little extra designs. Your runner will look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLol...a girl can never have enough fabric or yarn. Lovely projects, cute fabrics.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Anita.
I agree, sometimes you hit a block and need to step away for a while. A new idea and fresh eyes and the project comes alive again. Have fun with the planning.
ReplyDeleteIt's a festival of petals! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour little work-in-progress quilt is gorgeous Michelle & I look forward to seeing how you do finish it off. I have dragged my UFO box down from the very top shelf too :-)

ReplyDeleteI love your ideas for completing the hexagon quilt! Sometimes a project stalls but once you finally get inspiration on how to continue/finish you can go 'great guns' lol
ReplyDeleteYour idea for finishing off your hexie quilt sounds just the very thing! Love those frangipani flowers......I don't miss living in coastal humidity, but I do miss those flowers.
ReplyDeleteI have quite a few UFO's which need to be looked at, but I think when you run out of ideas it is always best to put it away until the 'inspiration fairy' comes to call on you again. I don't think anyone would ever get bored at looking at your work. Thank you for sharing, Guida.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the Blessings block we will never get sick of seeing those.
