I began with lots of slicing left overs and gathered a little pile....
Began stitching them together.....and sewing them on to the plain borders...
And finally 2 finished Heart I Spy quilt tops.....
Blue....Miss E.
Pink...Miss C.
Backing to sort and then off to our clever quilting Faerie...FIONA
As Hearts is the subject of this post....yesterday my dear stitching friends and I took our stitching day and morning tea to the hospital where our friend Denise has had a long stay recovering from a serious illness and undergoing lots of rehab. Our hearts were full to be together once again and we shared a few tears, lots of hugs and much love and laughter. We even did a stitch or three!
We hope to be able to repeat this more often in the future.
Our gang.....missed you Jacky xx
Sandra bought along a lovely quilt by a friend of hers for us to admire and admire we did.....it was exquisite...the quilting wonderful, so bright and happy...a real treat to see it. Apparently the lady enjoyed it so much she has embarked upon another!
My stitching efforts were a few more pieces basted for my next round of 1797.....trying to keep momentum going....
A special day.

Bits and Pieces
My stitching has definitely been a bit of this and a little of that this past week.
I started to put my girls heart quilts together.
A small pink border for Miss C.
And bright blue for Miss E.
I am planning a scrappy final border with the I Spy leftovers and binding the same as the little border.....so nearly there!
The next border....a cream one is going on to 1797Revisted quilt.
I have 2 more Postcards for the pile....the last I managed to stitch whilst keeping my Mum company in hospital, where she will be for the next little while.
I think I have 13 more to go.....and then I can get stuck into assembly.
So that is about it for me.
Hoping you find some stitching time to enjoy.

She also gave me a little birthday surprise.....as I was away at the time...
So darn cute....
Show and Tell was inspiring from the girls as usual.
Helen had some beautiful finishes
Two more from Helen plus beautiful quilts from Susan (L) and Sandi (R)
Alison has also been a busy little bee.....
Marilyn shared her lovely cushion covers and sweet bags with Alison.
I shared my Charity Circles quilt.
Also my completed Ruth's quilt.
Both beautifully quilted by FIONA The label is a vintage doiley gifted by a friend.
Lovely to catch up and see all those beautiful projects....a happy day!

October FNSI
Last night I joined other bloggers for
Thanks WENDY for gathering us all together.
I took my Granddaughters BIG hint and appliqued lots of hearts for my little girls I spy quilts....pleased with what I got done.
I think I am getting quicker with each one I do!
I laid out one set and I have 8 left to stitch for each girl and then a border.
I think they will enjoy snuggling under these when they are finished.
We have just had a morning storm pass through and received a decent shower of rain with it.....sparkly raindrops on everything....
It knocked a lot of petals off my Jacaranda blossoms....
But not complaining, the garden is smiling.....and there is still plenty of pretty Jacaranda mauve to make me happy.
Happy weekend folks.

Brisbane Craft Show
Wednesday I popped into the annual craft and quilt show we have here. I met up with my friend FIONA who came down from her home town on the bus.
We had lovely couple of hours and also caught up with Jeanette, Lynda and Cheryl for lunch. A little retail therapy happened. I bought these bee themed fabrics as I have a little project running around in my head.....I may have led my friend astray too lol!
Some new EPP papers and an addition to my cream and blue around for 1797. Also a couple of secret sewing bits.
The bit I always enjoy about the show are the quilts. I had planned to share lots but my old camera was less than cooperative. So here are the ones that turned out ok. Fiona will have some also HERE
There was a challenge entitled "Magic" and they were beautiful art quilts.
This one called "Saving Magic" inspired by a greyhound rescue stole my heart. I have a lovely friend who is very involved in greyhound rescue...so it spoke to my heart straight away! Tina...this is for you!
The twinkle in Magics eye was a well placed diamonte.
These were also favourites...."Creating Magic" by Sue we Vanny. This piece was so enchanting up close!
"Womens Magic" by Alison Withers
"The Mystic Orb" by Bernadine Hine
"Believe" by Maria Mason
This was gorgeous and was a raffle quilt, I think....Mountain Blooms by Mountain Quilters....
Dragonflies.....beautiful!
"Where's the Birdhouse" by Glenn's Cheng really took my fancy. It was made from mostly Opshop finds.
This piece was amazing and how you would even go about it gave me a headache!
This one belonged to the Magic Challenge and my photo is not very good but the instructions were to take a photo with the flash on and you would be able to read the message there....if you look closely you may see it.
Lots of amazing quilts...definitely worth a visit if you can....I haven't even skimmed the surface of what was on show. I find it very inspiring to see the work of others.
For me on the sewing front another row has gone onto my 1797 Revisted quilt.
And since the show I have cut and basted some of the cream/blue row coming up next.
A little person (eldest Granddaughter) has been inquiring as to the reason on the lack of progress on my heart I spy blocks lol! So I think they better get a little attention next.
Have a wonderful weekend.
