Good morning to you all. Today I have been a happy little blogger for 4 years. Yes Blogaversary! I started out with such trepidation but now couldn't imagine my life without my online journal and wonderful friends I have made along the way. You are all a constant source of inspiration to me. I love that we can share our thoughts, ups and downs, daily lives and our creative passions. So thank you for receiving my words with such kindness and interest xxx
I never make new year resolutions...nor do I often make lists! I often think perhaps I should, but as "should" is one of my least favourite words, I avoid it lol! More of a meandering Mary, me! What did John Lennon say " Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans "
I have begun the year with packing up Santa's sleigh until next time and restoring the old favs.
A little bit of stitching has taken place...a new pattern in the works..I really love CGT Mistletoe and decided why should I just use it for Christmas stitching, especially when I have pretty fabric that will match beautifully.
I will share more as I go along....it is quite sweet and I think you will like it.
Now it wouldn't be a blog post from me if I didn't waffle a little. So why should 2016 be any different *wink
My DD was a beautiful ballet dancer and danced into her early twenties. She has an Associate Degree in dance as well as her Degree in Education. She is a born teacher but her dance background has enchanced her students experience on many occasions. Often affording disadvantaged students an introduction to the joy of dancing. When she finally hung up her ballet shoes I managed to keep her last pair of pointe shoes....as you can see she and they worked very hard...boy did I hand darn the toes of heaps of these over the years! Would make you cry to see what happened everytime to all your hard work lol!
I had always wanted to draw them....unadorned, hoping to depict the hard work that goes on behind the scenes in pursuit of their art.
DD is quite chuffed with my efforts...
I like that I managed the "totally worn in and worn out" experience of being a dancer.....didn't want "pretty".
I must away....still a few things Santa forgot to pack on the sleigh.
Namaste and Blessings,
Michelle xxx
