The last pair of Bears are stitched.....meet Bearyl and Nutmeg.....
Bearyl looks a bit travel weary lol!
I have another little piece to stitch before I put it together.
I drew this postcard before I ever thought of doing the "other " Postcards! I think eventually I shall be postcards out!
The fabric I bought is quite busy but I loved it, which surprised me as I am definitely NOT a novelty fabric kind of girl! I am hoping to bring it altogether with a pretty cinnamon spot.
It just seemed to fit the travelling bears.....and was a little bit vintage looking.
I feel satisfied that progress is being made to get it crossed off the UFO CHALLENGE list.
I have a birthday coming up next month and will be away when it happens. My very nice hubby surprised me with an early birthday gift (he didn't expect to arrive this early lol!)
The gift.....a subscription to Australian Geographic a magazine that I love and 2 coffee mugs featuring the gorgeous artwork by Nathan FERLAZZO also an artist I really admire.....
Sooo talented!
We are still damp and drizzly here today so I feel a cuppa and some quiet stitching is the order of the day. Perhaps some Clamshells stitching as I am a little "beared" out!

Rainy Days and Wednesdays
I fear that I cannot grumble about the rain when we need badly and despite such a grey and drizzly day it was brightened by some stitching with some friends at my friend Monica's house.
Chatting, laughs and a bit of silliness were the order of the day.
As you can see I took my Clamshells to work on!
Poor Theresa was teased about her Country Alphabet progress but she got her block "I" finished! Lol!
Such a nice cosy day....Thanks Monica and girls xx
My UFO is coming along.....Madge and Honey are finished!
They have joined their other furry friends....
One more block to go.
On the subject of Bears my friend Lorel made a beautiful version of my Calendar Bears design for a special new baby. It now resides far across the country.
Our clever quilting faerie FIONA did the quilting.....made my heart happy to see it.
I have also caved in prepping for another EPP project I have very much hankered after....6 Pointed Stars....oh dear!
So that's about it from me for now!
Be good to one another.

FNSI JUNE
WENDY * gathered us all together cyberly last night for our June Sew In.
I had an early start finishing off a little secret project whilst watching a favourite movie....Miss Potter, in the afternoon. I then dusted off my domestic goddess tiara and made a very delicious and warming roast lamb for dinner.
I then set to work on my No. 7 UFO CHALLENGE.....my Bear stitcheries....poor neglected little friends.....Madge with half a frock!
My aim was to get Madge and Honeys little faces stitched. Zombie Bears can be a bit off putting lol! I can happily report they have faces now.
I hope to get a little more done today....I fell out of love with these blocks for some unremembered reason quite a while ago.....I think perhaps because 'how' I was going to use them was not forthcoming. A few cogs are turning upstairs so there is hope that they will be finished! Nothing to fancy.....but 'finished' is more useful than not!
I hope you stitched along with us last evening also.
Thank you Wendy.
Have a lovely weekend folks.

Back on the Air
Hello lovely people. I am back on deck. I am feeling a lot better and apart from a bit of a bark still things are looking up. As I was laid pretty low not a lot of sewing to show you.
When I got over the worst of it I did work on my Clamshells....very slowly! It was nice to lie under it and stitch at the same time.
I was able to join the girls for Sunday Stitchers this month and you guessed it worked on my Clamshells lol!
As it was my UFO CHALLENGE I had progress to show.....
It has definitely grown!
We had 2 birthday girls.....Maria
And Cheryl....
We were a bit short on numbers but the girls still managed some pretties to admire...Susan's Jelly roll race x 2, Marilyn had finished her pretty Funky Flowers and Cheryls wonderful kiddies quilt.
Maria wowed us with her beautiful throw, Marilyn has renewed her love of crochet with this lovely rug in progress and Helen's very cute pin cushion trio.
Sandi phoned hers in.....cute...very cute!
Our UFO CHALLENGE NO this month is
Which for me is working on some Bear Stitcheries...
We had a lovely day despite being a small group. So that's about it from me. I am off to have a cuppa and enjoy some of this cute little fruit cake......it's a shame to cut it!
My Son gave it to me.....a gift from a fundraising event he spoke at for Smiling for Smiddy cancer research. Luckily for me he doesn't like fruitcake lol!
Take care,

Clamshells and Bits
Here are at Thursday again....what happened to Monday?
I have spent my stitching time working on my Clamshells and doing the prep work for my next postcards.....all drawn up, traced and waiting for the needle and thread.
I am not preparing anymore as I want to save some for an upcoming holiday.
I have been basting lots of clamshells...
And I am very happy to have just pinned on Row 33!
Even unpressed there is something very joyful about looking at all those rows of lovely clamshells.....
Yesterday I called in at a Patchwork shop near our stitching day catchup to buy some smaller clamshells......in and out I told myself....no lingering or stroking fabrics!
Hmmmm! Fell in love with these.....
And....they weren't really random purchases....I needed some more clamshell fabrics and I had been looking for a suitable border fabric for my Travelling Ted's stitcheries forEVER! That's my story and I am sticking to it!
We had a very nice catchup....huge laughs (But we can't divulge the topic lol!) and delicious food....Thank you Moira xx
I did stitch....I made more clamshells.
This week we celebrated another important birthday....our youngest Grandson.
It's tough when it's a school day but cake and candles help kick off the celebrations....
There is nothing lovelier than a child and a birthday cake 💖
Close your eyes footy haters!
And great to wake up this morning knowing that My Footy Team made a good showing in the 1st game in The State of Origin series....
Woohoo!! More of the same will be very nice thank you!
Have a lovely day!

Beenleigh Quilters Quilt Show
Yesterday I had a prearranged meet up with my friend FIONA from Bubzrugz at Beenleigh Quilters Quilt Show. It's quite close to where I live....so seemed perfect for a catchup. A lovely surprise when a mutual friend of ours Robyn popped off the bus too.....
There were some lovely quilts on show. Here's a couple I snapped.
We were gobsmacked at the size of this Splendid Sampler quilt! The maker had added other blocks special to her.....we think.....as some we didn't remember.
Loved these swans and Alpacas.....so cute!
Cute penguins too....
We found this one interesting with the strips of bias sewn across the top of the blocks.
Pretty stitchery...
And a couple more....
I thought these "hands off" signs were cute....
I am notoriously bad at 'selfies and nothing improved with my efforts yesterday. LOL!
So good to have friends you can be silly with! After a lovely cuppa and delicious homemade goodies we checked out the traders stalls....just a few but.....
I did bring a few bits of loot home.....some lovely bee themed words fabric and some precut squares for my Yoko Saito quilt (yes it is still happening)
Footnote: I made the finish line for my May Postcards....yes!
Thanks for hanging in there.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.....I am chopping clamshells and drawing up more Postcards.
