On a Serious Note!

Good morning everyone. To say that  I  have  been a bit of a sad sack over recent weeks is probably an understatement so I  have decided to  share it with you just so I know that I have done all that I can.
Explanation : The highlight of my designing career has been to create and produce my very own book "A Holly Cottage Christmas "...

The heart of this book was the quilt I designed, stitched by hand and hand quilted.

To say is was created from my own heart pretty much sums it up.
Before I  went away on holidays my quilt and 6 books were sent away for a giveaway promotion. They arrived at their destination  (which I am not going to name) were signed for and promptly disappeared off the face of the earth. Whilst every effort has been made and is still being made, my quilt and books have not been found. I am  completely gutted and wonder what on earth all that effort was for. I am  putting it out there that it is missing so that I  know everyone knows it is not where it should be. If anyone knows anything about it please contact me.
Needless to say my designing and creative mojo has gone missing also.
Thanks for your attention.

  8. Just devastating Michelle. Do they know who signed for it at the port office? I have to give my drivers license and the PO takes the details when I have to pick up a parcel. They confirm the right person is picking it up. Very strange and just terrible for you. So sorry Michelle x

  15. I feel for you-- how can someone have signed for it and it still go missing? Well everyone will be on the look out for it and hopefully the person who has taken it will read this and be shamed into returning it. Melody's idea is a great one-- happy to sew a block if it happens.

  16. I will sew a block if it is not found, but am just stunned to think your quilt and books were stolen! Sounds like an inside job if it reached its destination safely, was signed for and then disappeared, but I can only surmise that. Cannot understand, as the person responsible will never be able to show it to anyone or anywhere, why on earth do they do such horrible things. So so sad and sorry, Michelle.

  19. I am gob smacked Michelle. Just can't understand or believe that something so horrible can happen to such a lovely generous person. We all would willingly stitch blocks for a replacement though it will never be the same. Positive thoughts for a positive outcome. Hugs, my Friend. Xxx

  28. Have you posted a photo of the quilt on Facebook with the story of what happened. It will make it a lot harder for the person who stole it to have it on display anywhere.

  32. This is heartbreaking Michelle. How can it just disappear? Someone must know where it is. Let's hope they find a conscience and return it to its rightful owner.

  33. how devastating. I hope it will be returned to you.
some people have no conscience at all!

  34. It is so very hard to understand that this sort of thing could happen...especially if it is so far from your nature to ever do such a thing yourself...you wonder how people sleep at night. Karma will make a full circle Michelle and they will know just how you are feeling right now. It is just so unfair for it to happen to a wonderful person like you. I have everything crossed for some good news my friend. Hoping it is returned quickly...xox

  43. How upsetting. Hopefully it's just been put somewhere that no one has looked yet (guessing it's an office situation). I had a quilt go missing when a shop that was about to release the design unexpectedly closed down. Very discouraging. I hope your mojo comes back soon.

  44. OMG!!!! How awful!!! You poor love. Hopefully they will turn up soon . So much time and energy from heart and soul just disappearing like that must be so heart wrenching. It is a pity you can't name the place of destination. Karma. That's all I shall say. Many many angel hugs.

  45. Ok it's just very very sad but is there any chance we could all get together and reconstruct the beautiful quilt.... It will not replace the lose but We could rebuild the quilt and a good friends faith.... It is possible we can do it.... I have the time and place if you could all help... For those that are framed by distance you could do a section and post it to Michelle's friends that could rebuild Michelle taught me to hand quilt so I would be willing to put days aside.... I can needle turn.... Even.... If you have any ideas about how we can all pull this off...please email me pidgeonr@bigpond.com.... I have the book and some fabrics but I'm not really good with colours ..... But we can do this.... I believe is us and the power of friendship....

  49. OMGoodness Michelle, this is awful news, I'm so very sorry. Surely there must be a way of putting pressure on those who received that package to bear some responsibility for your items?

  55. I am so sorry for you.. all that work.. I only just read about it on the craft group on F/B.. I agree with the comment about the post office telling you who signed for it = perhaps contacting said person and suggesting if all is returned it will be over and done with, otherwise you going to the Police. Also what about posting a picture for all to see on facebook and asking for its return? The thing is they will not be able to show it to anyone! Some "humans" have no morals.. they are disgusting thieves. I hope and pray they find a conscience and return it to you. xxx
