Explanation : The highlight of my designing career has been to create and produce my very own book "A Holly Cottage Christmas "...
The heart of this book was the quilt I designed, stitched by hand and hand quilted.
To say is was created from my own heart pretty much sums it up.
Before I went away on holidays my quilt and 6 books were sent away for a giveaway promotion. They arrived at their destination (which I am not going to name) were signed for and promptly disappeared off the face of the earth. Whilst every effort has been made and is still being made, my quilt and books have not been found. I am completely gutted and wonder what on earth all that effort was for. I am putting it out there that it is missing so that I know everyone knows it is not where it should be. If anyone knows anything about it please contact me.
Needless to say my designing and creative mojo has gone missing also.
Thanks for your attention.

ReplyDeleteThat is terrible and very sad. I'll try to help spread the word. Someone must have some idea what happened. Fingers crossed you will get your beautiful quilt back, if not maybe some of us could stitch the blocks again and you could have a friends version.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Melody
DeleteDear ladies I have suggested that we could reconstruct the... if you want to send me a message via email please do ... I am forming a list and if the ordinal is dose not find its way home we can all participate in the reconstruction

ReplyDeleteHow devastating Michelle, I really hope your beautiful quilt is found really soon. Sending love and hugs your way xo Warm wishes Lizzi
ReplyDeleteJust devastating Michelle. Do they know who signed for it at the port office? I have to give my drivers license and the PO takes the details when I have to pick up a parcel. They confirm the right person is picking it up. Very strange and just terrible for you. So sorry Michelle x
ReplyDeleteHow devastating Michelle, I really hope your beautiful quilt is found really soon. Sending love and hugs your way xo Warm wishes Lizzi
ReplyDeleteHow on earth is that possible ? I can understand that you are very sad about it. I hope your quilt and books will turn up.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this. Stay positive...it just has to turn up! Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteOh that is terrible , I feel so badly for you but I am sure it will eventually show up , it has to be somewhere and I hope they find it soon . Hugs
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle, I am gutted for you :-( Surely they will turn up, the more people out there who know to keep an eye out, the better. My first thought was an idea like Melody's too. Huge hugs.
ReplyDeleteThat is really awful Michelle. I hope the quilt & books turn up soon. Hugs,xx
ReplyDeleteI feel for you-- how can someone have signed for it and it still go missing? Well everyone will be on the look out for it and hopefully the person who has taken it will read this and be shamed into returning it. Melody's idea is a great one-- happy to sew a block if it happens.
ReplyDeleteI will sew a block if it is not found, but am just stunned to think your quilt and books were stolen! Sounds like an inside job if it reached its destination safely, was signed for and then disappeared, but I can only surmise that. Cannot understand, as the person responsible will never be able to show it to anyone or anywhere, why on earth do they do such horrible things. So so sad and sorry, Michelle.
ReplyDeleteHello Michelle,
ReplyDeleteMy jaw dropped when I read this, hope it is found quickly and returned to you. Thinking positive thoughts for you.
Happy days.
Bev.
Oh NO!! That is terrible, you must be so sad. I like Melody's idea, if the worst comes to the worst. Hugsxxx
ReplyDeleteI am gob smacked Michelle. Just can't understand or believe that something so horrible can happen to such a lovely generous person. We all would willingly stitch blocks for a replacement though it will never be the same. Positive thoughts for a positive outcome. Hugs, my Friend. Xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling just gutted Michelle, how could someone do this! Sending you a great big ((((HUG)))) and I'll be putting my hand up for a block as well if the worst happens and it doesn't come back :( Barb.
ReplyDeleteI can not understand that this can happen and it makes me very sad. So sorry also for the heartace this brings to you as designing and making quilts is so deep related to our hearts. So I only can send you a warm hug and hope, that somehow these books and quilt come back to the right place again.
ReplyDeleteThis is just so awful Michelle, no wonder you're upset. I hope that it's returned safely to you. Try not to lose heart. X
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle, I am so sad reading this. I am not surprised you are feeling so down. Have you spread the word on facebook? Sending love and hugs. xx
ReplyDeleteOh no, that is so awful. No wonderful you are so sad - it is a terrible thing. I fall in love with each quilt I make and I know you must too. Sending a big hug and prayers your way.
ReplyDeleteI could hardly believe what I just read. So sorry to hear this Michelle!! I am with Melody and my good friends Raewyn and Leeanne. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle, I am gobsmacked!! How could this happen. Hopefully someone has a change of heart and returns the quilt to you....I would be happy to make a block too.
ReplyDeleteDevastating news Michelle .... I hope your beautiful treasures find their way home to you
ReplyDeleteHave you posted a photo of the quilt on Facebook with the story of what happened. It will make it a lot harder for the person who stole it to have it on display anywhere.
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle, how awful! Here's hoping you have some good news soon xx
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle That is just terrible Thinking of you and praying that it will return safely
ReplyDeleteHugs
Oh no.....Hope you get some good news very soon.
ReplyDeleteThis is heartbreaking Michelle. How can it just disappear? Someone must know where it is. Let's hope they find a conscience and return it to its rightful owner.
ReplyDeletehow devastating. I hope it will be returned to you.
ReplyDeletesome people have no conscience at all!
It is so very hard to understand that this sort of thing could happen...especially if it is so far from your nature to ever do such a thing yourself...you wonder how people sleep at night. Karma will make a full circle Michelle and they will know just how you are feeling right now. It is just so unfair for it to happen to a wonderful person like you. I have everything crossed for some good news my friend. Hoping it is returned quickly...xox
ReplyDeleteI am so disappointed for you. You have every right to feel miserable. That quilt was a delight and I remember all the time you were working on it. I do hope that someone somewhere is able to help.
ReplyDeleteI know how devastated you are Michelle so lets hope that by getting it out there that it's missing that it may just get back to you xx
DeleteOh so sad for you Michelle - but don't let the bad guys get you down too much.
ReplyDeleteHoping for a positive outcome ..Hugs
Hope it is found Michelle.
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle, that's very awful. I hate it when people didn't know what stuff is his own is what is from someone else. Keep your hands of it when it isn't yours.
ReplyDeleteIk hope so that it come back to you. Keep my fingers crossed.
Michelle, I am so very, very sorry for all this. I know it's heartbreaking. Please know you have my thoughts and prayers that you will not only find your quilt and books but also the culprit who did it and that he/she will be punished.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible thing to happen to you. I do so hope whoever took them will have second thoughts and return your property.
ReplyDeleteMy sympathy on your loss, and also on the loss of trust you must be suffering.
Oh no 😢 there was a large group of quilts go missing like this recently and its just heartbreaking for the creators. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteOh no 😢 there was a large group of quilts go missing like this recently and its just heartbreaking for the creators. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteShocking to think that a fellow quilter could stoop so low!
ReplyDeleteI really hope you get a happy ending xx
How upsetting. Hopefully it's just been put somewhere that no one has looked yet (guessing it's an office situation). I had a quilt go missing when a shop that was about to release the design unexpectedly closed down. Very discouraging. I hope your mojo comes back soon.
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!! How awful!!! You poor love. Hopefully they will turn up soon . So much time and energy from heart and soul just disappearing like that must be so heart wrenching. It is a pity you can't name the place of destination. Karma. That's all I shall say. Many many angel hugs.
ReplyDeleteOk it's just very very sad but is there any chance we could all get together and reconstruct the beautiful quilt.... It will not replace the lose but We could rebuild the quilt and a good friends faith.... It is possible we can do it.... I have the time and place if you could all help... For those that are framed by distance you could do a section and post it to Michelle's friends that could rebuild Michelle taught me to hand quilt so I would be willing to put days aside.... I can needle turn.... Even.... If you have any ideas about how we can all pull this off...please email me pidgeonr@bigpond.com.... I have the book and some fabrics but I'm not really good with colours ..... But we can do this.... I believe is us and the power of friendship....
ReplyDeletewhat the hell!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sad after all your efforts. Hopefully the quilt will make it's way home soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Michellei sincerely hope the quilt and books are found and returned to you.Regards Lyn
ReplyDeleteSo devastating! Makes you wonder about human nature doesn't it? Keeping fingers crossed for you Michelle, and hoping that the quilt turns up for you. Hugs & best wishes.
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness Michelle, this is awful news, I'm so very sorry. Surely there must be a way of putting pressure on those who received that package to bear some responsibility for your items?
ReplyDeleteWho signrd for it Michelle? Surely Aust Post can let you know that....then call the police! I am gutted for you :(
ReplyDeleteI am devasted for you. There is so much effort just to construct not to mention the designing phase. Gee i hope that it can be found and one would hope that it will find its way back to you.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of support and through social media I hope your quilt and books turn up soon. Everyone is thinking of you
ReplyDeleteOh hon I'm so very very sorry. I just hope that it's some form of administrative error and they are sitting on a shelf unnoticed. Sending positive energies your way that they are found and returned
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle,
ReplyDeletewhat a sad story, I am so sorry for you. You do not deserve such a miserable experience. Hope your quilt and books eventually will be, where they are supposed to be.
Greetings,
Sylvia
I am so sorry for you.. all that work.. I only just read about it on the craft group on F/B.. I agree with the comment about the post office telling you who signed for it = perhaps contacting said person and suggesting if all is returned it will be over and done with, otherwise you going to the Police. Also what about posting a picture for all to see on facebook and asking for its return? The thing is they will not be able to show it to anyone! Some "humans" have no morals.. they are disgusting thieves. I hope and pray they find a conscience and return it to you. xxx
