Very, Very Late for Favourite Thing Friday.

I know I am very late for FTF being Saturday and all. Yesterday a mega headache and the need to join with some friends in giving another dear friend loving support and huge hugs took precedence over getting to the computer. I took some heavy duty pain killers last night so if there are any spelling mistakes or stuff that doesn't make sense you'll know why.

I had to really think hard about a favourite for yesterday and dear and loving friends was top of the tree as were pain killers but I have also been losing myself in a wonderful book (yes I know another book) which my Mum gave me when she was down. "The Forgotten Garden" by Queensland's own Kate Morton. I think the fact that part of it is set in Brisbane around Paddington where I lived and spent a lot of time growing up. There is even reference to the Paddington Antique Centre which has been  and still is a favourite haunt of mine. It also has wonderful characters an author and an artist and is a mystery to boot. Loved every word of it and a little part of me is so sorry the mystery is solved and the journey is over.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and cherish those you love and who love you back.
Blessings Michelle xx

  1. You always know a book was really good when you're sorry that it's over. :-) How cool that it takes place in an area with which you are so familiar!

  2. Hope you're feeling better Michelle... and I didn't see any spelling mistakes (not that that means much he he). Okay... now you've really got me intrigued.. I haven't heard of that book before, but I definitely want to read it, especially as it's written around Paddington. Thanks so much for the post... I am off to search for that book. Take care xx

  4. Hey Michelle! Hmmm ... this books sounds right up my alley ... will keep an eye out for it. Aaahhh ... Paddington Antique Centre ... hours of fun!! The only part I don't like is having to park on one of Paddington's HUGE hills, then walk back up to the shops ... my poor unfit body hates me when I do that! :0) Enjoy your weekend - Bear Hugs! 10. I can't believe I haven't read any of Kate Morton's books. I must rectify that.
I hope your headache has gone this evening, and your friend is ok, it's good that you can be there for them.

  11. Hope your now feeling better Michelle. As a migraine sufferer since a young age, I know the benefit of painkillers and lying in a darkened room. Don't seem to get them much any more, a benefit to getting older I guess. Take care.....Hugs

  14. G'day Michelle. It was lovely of you to join with other friends in being there for someone else. I hope it helped. Are you feeling better? There is nothing worse than a bad headache. The book sounds interesting. It is a shame sometimes to finish a good book. Take care. Liz...

  15. Giggling at the idea of pain killers being your favourite thing. Not giggling at the idea you've had a headache bad enough to need them. Hope that's resolved !

Since I love books and with really good books feel a keen sense of disappointment when they're finished I can identify with your favourite totally.

PS There were no spelling mistakes in your post!
