My shopping

I said I would show you my purchases from Highfields on Wednesday. First more Japanese fabric for my Mum's quilt.
And I spied some cute little tins that just happened to be houses....well need I say more. I also bought a sweet little birdie to go with 2 others I have, some lovely felt and some gorgeous lace.
And then there was the fabric I chose for "My Country Garden" quilt. It looks so pretty, this photo is a bit dark. I really do need help in the photography department.
After putting the blocks together I have put the green aside and used a pretty plain blue which is featured in the floral fabric and I am very pleased with it. You know how you buy that gorgoeus top off the rack only to discover when you try it on at home it looks hideous well the green was something like that. It won't be wasted though because I love that olivey marbled green  for appliqued leaves and stems etc. just not for this.

I have decided to applique some chocolate hearts in each corner of the floral border so will show you when it's done.
I just love this chocolate spot fabric. Spots & Chocolate what's not to love.
Have a great weekend everyone. We are going to have to get out the Exit Mould if this weather keeps up.
Blessings Michelle xx

  5. Hi Michelle,I have just caught up with your lovely posts, because we had a lot of damage in our Christmas day storm, my sewing - computer room has been out of action( now repaired thanks to insurance), so it is great to catch up. Hand sewing "Tea and Cakes" has kept me sane while I have not had my machine.Hugs R.

  10. Beautiful things you bought - love that Japanese fabric! I've done that with fabric myself, think it looks great but it doesn't when I get it home. That's ok, you'll use it for something! Love your quilt top, spotty chocolate, *swoon*!

We crafty people never waste anything - if it doesn't work for one project it'll always do for another

  16. I am so looking forward to seeing the completed Japanese themed quilt for your Mother. I work for a Japanese company in Brisbane CBD and I also love Japanese fabrics, their yummy treats which we get when we have visitors from Japan (often) we see nothing like it in Australia. Cheers Kaylee
