Well no more! She is out! Sometimes you have to make the decision to go with what you have or never finish a project. I have decided to go with what I have....
9 completed blocks. They are quite big blocks...16 and half inches. I have had them laid out on my spare bed for a few days rearranging them and just looking at the line up. I am now happy with this layout.
I am a big fan of the "floating" blocks so there will be no sashings to take away from all the work in the blocks. The final border will float too and I am going to attempt a very simple swag on this to finish it off....wish me luck!
Last evening I went with my friend the beautiful Janeen to this.
We have heard Elizabeth Gilbert speak before and throughly enjoyed it. This time was just as much fun. I love her down to earth, straight talking view on life and creativity. Nice to share the experience with a friend also.
Ok lots to do today and then on to drawing up a simple swag....she says not scared a bit!!!
I was going to enjoy a lovely relaxing weekend away with family but a certain little grandie is now a little sickie so I see some stitching on the horizon instead!
Have a lovely weekend folks....be it simple or bold!
Namaste and Blessings Michelle xxx
Hi Michelle
ReplyDeletewell done on getting this beautiful quilt out of the cupboard & choosing how to finish it... you've put in so much work already, it would be a shame to not finish... x
Glad you are finishing this beautiful quilt. Hugs, xx
ReplyDeleteWow! That quilt is going to be stunning when you finish it. Have a relaxing stitching weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle it's looking awesome my friend and sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friend xx
ReplyDeleteOh WOW, love the blocks. I promised myself a baltimore quilt, but will try a pillow instead (much more achievable). Hope your grandchild gets better soon. Guida
ReplyDeleteThose blocks are far too lovely to leave in a box. Great to see them ready to be finished.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, your quilt is too gorgeous to leave unfinished!
ReplyDeleteGreat to get it out and do something with it.. It looks lovely
ReplyDeleteStunning blocks Michelle, look forward to 'the swag'!
ReplyDeletehow beautiful Michelle, much too pretty to not see a finish. I like the baltimore without the sashings but with swags too. Gotta love a nice swag.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy finishing this beauty!
hope you sickie is on the mend
Dear Michelle,
ReplyDeleteyour Baltimore blocks are gorgeous. Wonderful applique, love your color combinations. This is going to be a very fine quilt.
Greetings,
Sylvia
Oh my gosh Michelle... I started a Baltimore quilt....in 1990.....hanging head in shame now....the class was for four blocks plus swag border....I thought four was far too small for a queen size bed....so planned on 16 of them....16.5" blocks. I have done 7. And am almost at the "move it along stage".
ReplyDeleteWow looking good. You are really getting into those UfO's...well done. It looks amazing. Can't wait to see it finished.xx
ReplyDeletelove your baltimore blocks and I haven't heard the term 'floating blocks' - great look especially for those.
ReplyDeleteHugz
Those blocks are beautiful and deserve a finish. Can't wait to see it all done. Good luck.x
