I have begun "G" in Country Alphabet...
Good to get back to these blocks. After discovering the quilt wadding I was going to use for my French General Dresden quilt had succumbed to a big quilting thief chopping a huge square out of it for a project now long forgotten, it was off to pick up some supplies so I could get this quilt sandwiched. Ran into a friend....love an impromptu coffee and chat. Home again and down to work!
All pressed and laid out.
I thought I would give the basting pins ago...again! But after a few, I took them out. It is just not the same and did not feel like "MY" process for finishing a quilt. So! Out came my trusty looong basting needle and thread and off I went...
Happy little quilter here now! LOL! Seems some progressive things are not for me...and I am more than ok with that. Oh I do like simple days doing simple things....how about you?
Namaste and Blessings,

ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful! Just do whatever suits you - the world would be a dull place indeed if we all did things the same way, wouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is just stunning Michelle. Think it's easier doing things how you feel comfortable doing them - and it works
ReplyDeleteLovely French Dresden Quilt, looking forward to join tonight in doing simple things like quilting. Love the slow process and being in my own little quiet world.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Sylvia
Your basted quilt is so exciting to see - that much closer to a finish. I've never basted with thread before, pins all the way for me - isnt it funny how we all have our little preferences ?
ReplyDeleteOh yes Michelle I totally agree...keep it simple! Can I ask then do you use any pins at all. I pin to secure and then I baste but had no idea there is a basting needle...how fabulous to know this! Thank You for that!
ReplyDeleteThe colours in your quilt make me swoon Michelle :-) It is looking sooo gorgeous. Have you come across the thief yet that chopped a big chunk out of your wadding I wonder??!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the process Michelle - that's what I love to do - and if the old cap fits, wear it :-) I adore this quilt!
ReplyDeleteLovely looking quilt Michelle...and done your way! Personally...I'm a pinner...lol

This quilt is looking beautiful. Well done on sticking to your plans.
ReplyDeleteAnd who could the wadding thief be?
Love the quilt. Are you hand quilting it? I use pins but I'd rather use a professional quilter! Good luck with it
ReplyDeleteThat Dresden quilt is gorgeous! Must admit I love my safety pins for basting, so much quicker. xx
ReplyDeleteYour dresden quilt is so so beautiful
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful dresden quilt. I have one all cut out and ready for me to get to working on. I use the safety pins for basting also but only quilt my projects myself if they are very small.
ReplyDeleteStunning Michelle xxx

ReplyDeleteMichelle, I'm just loving your Dresden Plate quilt. I keep trying to use basting pins, too, and like you, always revert back to stitch basting. Can't always teach an old dog new tricks! How will you quilt it?
