As you can see we are still receiving an over abundance of the wet stuff...
Some of my gardens are starting to resemble a jungle.
Still doing things you love to does bring a little sunshine regardless of what the weather is doing outside.
My FNWF stitching consisted of embroidering some little baby singlets for the soon to be new arrivals.
Nice undies always make a girl feel good, may as well start at the very beginning.
I had forgotten how much I enjoyed stitching these. As they were quick to do I finished off my evening doing a few scribbles and before I knew it the clock chimed eleven. I hope drawing is counted as I was still right there with you all and the drawing was stitching related. After this post I am popping over to CHERYLL'S to see who signed up and then I am off for a visit.
Yesterday after managing to go head over turkey and almost doing the splits and banging my knee heavily on a rainy roof drip on the floor outside Spotlight ( and you would not believe the amount of people who walked around me and just looked save one gorgeous old couple who came to see if I was alright) I limped home and set to finishing Master L's I Spy quilt. I am pleased to say all done.
One more to go! I then machine quilted in the ditch the rows on the baby quilts as I wanted them to be a bit more sturdy. I plan to hand quilt around the bears. I don't know how you clever girls do it. I bow down to your ability. I cannot honestly say I enjoyed it at all nor were my efforts that pleasing to me. Give me a needle and thread any day. Oh that sounds like I am speaking "old lady" doesn't it.
Today will be another day spent indoors and I have a couple of little creatures that need stuffing and then I think I might take up my pencils again and rest my poor knee and sore leg which has stiffened up considerably overnight. I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday.
Blessings Michelle xxx

Ouch, that sounds a bit painful. Definitely resting it and using your pencils is a good idea today. There is nothing to match the gorgeous effect of hand quilting, but machining must give it more strength for those that are in the wash a lot.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day. Hugs xx
Oh, and the singlets are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteoh Michelle i hope your leg is okay, sounds nasty.
ReplyDeleteThose singlets are real cute i have some also that i want to do ,i have a book somewhere that shows you how to do clowns and other things that i could do for a boy.happy stitching my friend.xx
The little grub roses on the singlets are so gorgeous...try as I might I simply cannot do those.
ReplyDeleteI hope the stiffness from your fall eases quickly...I must say I was astounded to hear most people just walked past you when you fell...Doesn't say much for them does it? And if you've had enough of that rain, perhaps you could ask it nicely to come down to Melbourne.
I think you might needs some more of those herb bickies for that leg of yours. Disgraceful that people just walk on past. Love the singlets, they're adorable!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bullion roses Michelle. I used to do them on little socks for my girls as well. SO cute! Look after your knee. Maybe a heat pack might help it too.
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented with your little stitcheries. The little ones will look so cute wearing your little works of art. Take care of yourself...and no more injuries, Ok?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful singlets. Shame on those people who walked by you, where have good manners gone? Rest up Michelle. Sharyn:)
ReplyDeleteHope your knee is a little better. I love the little singlets sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteOh, you definitely have my sympathy! I prescribe lots of rest, and I think you should be waited on hand and foot.....the worst part of a fall in public is the loss of dignity, I have done it, so I know!
ReplyDeleteThe singlets are divine, I hope that your leg gets better soon.
ReplyDeleteThe little singlets are adorable, I like your approach about the nice underwear.....gave me a giggle. Hope your knee feels better soon, I can't believe so few offered to give you a hand up. I must be an old lady too, I prefer my hand needle and thread too.
ReplyDeleteHow awful for you having a fall like that! There's no excuse for people ignoring your plight instead of showing common decency and checking to see that you were alright. Good on that older couple! Love the little singlets and the quilt looks lovely! (I'm like you, prefer the stitching not the quilting :-))
ReplyDeleteOuch! I hope your knee and leg are feeling a little better today, people just don't seem to want to get involved nowdays do they....shame on them!
ReplyDeleteLove the grub roses on the singlets, very pretty.Take care of yourself :) Barb.
Your singlets are gorgeous, they are a lovely distraction aren't they?
ReplyDeleteHope you recover from your fall. I had to help a lady that slipped on a hot chip in Coles the other week. The staff were not interested at all. I hope you did an accident report...
Its so sad that people cant stop and offer help. Gorgeous singlets. Any sort of craft is fine with me for FNWF. Better to hurt your knee / leg than you hand/arm...at least you can still sew.
ReplyDeleteHope the rain easing Michelle. Beautiful 29 degress down here. Your little singlets are cute. I could never master the grub roses very well. Do hope your knee/leg will be okay
ReplyDeleteGreat projects. I do love those little singlets. You are lucky you didn't do more damage to your knee. Us oldies have to be careful. Sad no one helped immediately. I hope you recover quickly.
ReplyDeleteHello Michelle,
ReplyDeleteI do hope you are feeling better, thankfully there are kind people out there to help. Boo to those who walked on by. Love the baby singlets, they bring back lots of memories.
You can send some of that rain over here, haven't seen any for so long, wondering if it still exists.
Happy days.
Bev.xoxo
Hope your leg is ok Michelle. Love the singlets. I used to do them for my kids. :) Hugs,xx.

ReplyDeleteI hope your knee will be okay real soon !
ReplyDeleteI love those little rosebuds you made on the undies, they look great !
Cute little flowers to brighten up the young ladies underwear.
ReplyDeleteHope your leg is ok.
The quilt looks gorgeous, lucky little people.
It would be nice if someone could advise the Sun that we're done with summer!
Have a sketchy week.
Love your little singlets. Your quilt looks good Michelle. Hope your knee and leg recovers quickly. People don't seem to care these days which is such a shame. Glad someone stopped to help. Hugs.......
ReplyDeleteYou've kept yourself busy Michelle on some wonderful items. LoVe the baby singlets... they will be PeRFeCT. Hope you are on 2 legs again real soon... oh well the rain is good for keeping you indoors and sewing. :)
ReplyDeleteDespite your assertion that your yard looks jungle like it still looks fabulous to me.
ReplyDeleteThose little flowers are so sweet...I can just see you being a nanna to two little girls and spoiling them rotten (in the nicest possible way ) with all sorts of girly stuff.
I Spy looks fabulous. I think you did a bang up job.
Hope the knee heals quickly. Just what is wrong with people?
Oh that does sound painful , hope it is feeling better now .Love the little singlets , such a cute addition .Congrats on finishing up the I spy quilt too :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope your leg heals quickly Michelle. You had just better stay sitting down, while stitching of course, and rest your leg. Those little singlets are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThe singlets are so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling much better I think the fright hurts nearly as much as the injury xx
ReplyDeleteOuch Michelle, I hope you are okay now and no long term damage done. Love the little baby singlets and the gorgeous I spy quilt. Take care xx
