Favourite Christmas Photo.

Good Morning all. This morning I am linking to TRACEE at Quilt Kitty Loves Life. Tracee has asked us to consider and share a favourite Christmas photo of either ourselves, kids, grand kids or pets. As I have shared the previous I thought I would share a photo we love of our old staffy Doccy (now in doggie heaven). We took him over to have his photo taken with Santa to raise funds for the RSPCA. Santa looks like 'are you kidding me' and Doccy gave us his best Christmas Staffy Smile.......
Doccy Boy and Santa
We love this photo. We always put this photo out at Christmas to remind us of our lucky we were to have had him in our life and it always makes us laugh to remember this day....he so wanted to go play with all the other people there. I just love the look on Santas face.
Which brings me to my next point. I always endeavour to keep my blog a very happy an uplifting place to visit but I am jumping on my Soapbox for just a while. Something I cannot bare and distresses me beyond belief is people getting puppies or kittens for the cute stage or a gift for another and then when holidays beckon or the cuteness wears off they abandon these poor creatures with no thought for their welfare.......SO DON'T DO IT!!!!!!! Be responsible for your pets. You promised to look after them for the whole of their lives not until your fancy for them passes.
Here ended the lesson!
This wonderful graphic was given to me by Donna of Lavenders Nest.

Blessings to all creatures great and small,
Michelle xx

  2. Santa is so young and he looks like the face of a Michelangelo fresco (albeit somewhat ticked off) BUT how happy does Doc look! It's as if he was looking forward to his trip to Santa all week. haha.
Here! Here! soapbox lady. It is beyond comprehension how anyone could discard a pet after Christmas. Shame on them!

  4. Amen to that! Both of my dogs are rescue dogs, so perhaps I should be grateful someone else didn't want them - boy did they miss out on the laughter, the joy they give and the unconditional love. Linda

  5. We now have the love of Christopher's life to look after. We got Bayley for CJ's 18th birthday and he travelled to Canberra with him this year. He was rescued from the RSPCA and is such a good natured dog who loved Christopher ... mutual feeling I can assure you. He does shed hair though! Can't understand why anyone would have abandoned Bayley.

  8. I cringe when I hear of people getting pets for Christmas because I read that a huge percentage of them end up in shelters mid year. Hear Hear ! for your soapbox .

Love the picture of Doccy. Im sure Santa was a little stunned.

  12. Well said. Some people are morons aren't they. Love the photo - I like to be able to remember our old dog with happy memories, not sad one.

  13. That photo is priceless , a great fond memory of your special pet . I agree 100% on the buying a pet for Christmas or anytime of year to keep just until that cute stage wears off and unfortunately it happens far too often . Well said!
