Quick Post

Just a quick post today. I thought I would show you my progress on RR and what it is shaping up like.
The stars are now appliqued on and the last hexie flower for the bottom is ready to be appliqued on to it's background as well. I then need 36 more blocks to add around this central piece. I am not having any borders until the end as I want that sampler type feel about it.
I also had a "heart" task to finish. I have a dear young friend who recently became a Mother and I had immediately set to work and stitched her little boy's Initial but had gotten no further...so I set to and got it done. He has a Pooh Bear themed room so I stuck with those colours of blue, yellow and a splash of red ricrac.
I get to have a big cuddle soon.
A little footnote: If you are stitching Calendar Bears
and you cannot get thread DMC 806 it has been renumbered as DMC 3760.
Ok folks must fly!

Lots of My Favourite people Were Born in february

There are going to be more Nan photos so just warning you up front...Firstly though I have to show you my stars...
Made all four and they are already to applique on to their backgrounds. Working on number one. I was not that pleased with my stitching as I couldn't get a perfect match of thread for my fabric and I can see the little stitches, even though I made them teeny tiny....trying to overcome my "hate when that happens" feelings about them. Hopefully in the overall scheme of things you won't notice too much!!!
As I said in my Title, Lots of my favourite people are born in February. Especially our eldest Grandson Lachie who is having a birthday today....HAPPY BIRTHDAY LACHIE XXXXX
We had a little family celebration yesterday. His Mum made an awesome "Hoth, Planet of Ice" cake.
Lachie is a mad Star Wars and lego fan. The cake tasted pretty delicious!
The grandie girls got into the "feeling the love" action...
The plugs stayed put though LOL!
So cute! The boys of course had to go for a swim...even though the water was freezing!!!
Completely nuts both of them! LOL!
I love this "Rogues Gallery" mugshot....

Enjoy your day,

FNWF February

Last night was time once again for...
Cheryll from Gone Stitchin' threw open the doors at her place (virtually of course) for all of us bloggers to come together and stitch. Thank you Cheryll.
After a busy week it was nice to sit back and relax and stitch with you all. I started in the afternoon and did a bit more on "B". I am really liking how they are stitching up.
Mr R. then cooked dinner (our favourite chinese takeaway) and I then settled down and cut out all the little diamonds for my 4 corner pieces for around the medallion on my Remembering Roma quilt.
It was very nice sitting and basting them while watching a rerun of Midsommer Murders...
One little star was put together and another started...
But then the eyes slammed shut.....so off to bed I went. I hope you all enjoyed your stitching or other handiwork as much as I did. I will be visiting over the weekend to see what every one achieved.
Have a lovely weekend.
I adore this ladies beautiful work!

"A" is Done!

Well folks good morning to you all. Today is a very special day today as it is my best friends Ann's Birthday.

So Happy Birthday lovely lady I hope you have a wonderful day xxx
Just have to tell you "A" is done.....

and "B's" begun!

The are nice and relaxing to do and I like how they are stitching up. Sometimes when I am drawing these I get a bit carried away with the detail and worry stitchers are going to be cursing me LOL! But I have been told by several of you that you like my details so that's good.
Today I am doing my least favourite bit...yes you guessed it! Instruction writing!!!
Have a beautiful day all.

This and That!

Good morning all. Well not much progress has been made on "A" from Country Heart overnight....
Now I come to think about it, I think successful stitching actually requires the stitcher  to have her eyes remain open to make any advancement. LOL! This ones eyes kept slamming shut so it was an early night!
I have a little sneaky to show you of a little hexie something or other that I have beeen working on.
SSSh! don't tell anyone you've seen it here!
Yesterday was "World Tutu Day" Yep! You missed the opportunity to don the tulle and pirouette! My little granddaughter Miss Erin did not however......DD took these cute piccies and I know I am totally biased when it comes to both my gorgeous granddaughters but hey that's my job!
Miss Erin embracing her Tutuness!
and how about Miss Charlotte in her cutest Christmas fairy Tutu.
Ok! Now that I have completely and blatantly indulged my Nanahood I am off to complete some "Domestic Goddess" duties and hopefully get back to "A".
I found this adorable image on Bing. Bye!

Terrific Tuesday

Tuesday's are starting to become my favourite day of the week because I get to go to Art class. I am sorry if my posting my progress gets a little tedious for you all but I really want to document my progress so I hope you will indulge me a little. Here is two lessons worth...
I love little Fairy Wrens...this variety is found out near Alice Springs. This next fellow...a black shouldered kite with his bush rat prey was quite a little challenge for me.
Today sweet little "Tiny" came with me to class in a favourite china cup....
Lots to get my head around with this one too! I was however very pleased with it when I finished it. It is amazing what having a clever teacher does for your progress. The reason I want to share them is so that I will have a record of them when I get my blog book printed which I try and do every 6 months.
As we don't write letters now or document our lives the way we used to in the past, we little bloggers will provide a glimpse of what our lives were like both the ordinary and the special to future generations....so express yourselves girls!!! There is magic in the ordinary and simple x
I cannot believe that we have just finished January and I already have a little cache of secret sewing business that is not up for viewing lol! However I have begun my first block in Country at Heart Alphabet.
Ok! Ok! A couple of stitches only but "First begun is half done" or so they say!
I hope you are having a very happy Tuesday too!

A Freebie Folks!

I have a little freebie for you from my sketchpad. I do hope you have fun with it and enjoy stitching it. Because I only have lovely people following my blog I am sure I really don't need to ask you to only use it for yourselves or to gift others....light someone else's candle xx
My best friend Ann was my inspiration as we truly are friends for all seasons.
Stitching wise I have finished stitching my Sue Daley stitchery....
and that's all I can say about that! I thought I had better get to and trace out a couple of my Alphabet letters for
otherwise the girls will be overtaking me...don't you hate it when your tracing pen is about to run out...very light tracings but they are on!
Enjoy the rest of your day,
