Sort of Stitching & a New Blogger

Hi all. Before I get on to FNWF stitching I wanted to tell you about a lovely lady I met out in the middle of the Northern Territory on our trip last year. We had a nice site and we were all set up when a van pulled up on to the site beside us. After some mutterings from my co-traveller about the NSW number plates and such things like "great cockies bet he's a blues supporter" which of course the gentleman was and was just as polite about us Cane toads in Queensland. The men found some common ground....their cars and football  and we had the best time sharing a meal and lots of laughter together that evening. Sharyn and I exchanged email addresses so we could keep track of each others adventures as they were going North and we were going South. Sharyn started reading my blog and then all of your great blogs  and really loved it so and after a teensy bit of encouragement ( bit of nagging really) from me I am very pleased to announce she now has her own blog. Woo hoo!!
Now she is a newbie and so needs lots of encouragement and advice and also some new followers and friends so please pop over and make her feel very welcome. Her blog is Sew Sharyn. You will love her she is the sweetest girl.
Last night what did I stitch?? Weelll! I cheated really and did some stitching in the afternoon because my little Brother was having a birthday so we joined him and his family and friends for dinner at the Brisbane Lions Club. We had a great night and It was a wee bit late when I got home to stitch.
But if "arvo" stitching counts I sewed my strawberry blocks together.
There is still borders and bits and pieces to do on it yet but I like it and it makes me feel all summery and like I want to go on a picnic somewhere. I also had 3 letters left to stitch on a Christmas block so I did that too.
I am really liking these blocks too and I am supposed to be doing quite a few other things besides these but I can't seem to help myself. I just think I am a lost cause as far as Christmas stitching is concerned.
The other thing I wanted to tell you was the postie bought me a "fabric" postcard all the way from Canada from the gorgeous Sheila. It was such a wonderful surprise. Sheila is so clever with her fabric postcards and now one lives with me.Thank you so much Sheila.
I have been de-Christmasing the house today and am what I would describe as a bit shattered. Thankfully the nice man I am married to gave me a hand. I still have a little bit to do but we are all polished and vacumed and just need to finish putting the non Christmas things back. It is times like these when I think it would be nice to have a huge slice of "minimalist" in my nature instead of the little pack rat I seem to be.
Ok that's it from me I am off to sink into my chair and then go visiting to see what all you non-cheating Friday Night Stitchers got up to.
Blessings Michelle xxx
