Decisions Decisions!

It's a public holiday today......for me, art and then another quilt to sew the binding down on.....after my post.
Now to the dilemma. I have been struggling with having fallen out of love with the rest of my Brinton Hall quilt.....I love what I have done so far but was very much less than keen on the remaining borders. Add to that the fact that one of my border fabric has dwindled to an amount that wouldn't see me through to the end.
The quilt after the addition of the last border looks like this.
My plan is to add two more small borders to finish it off.
I pondered long and hard not to go on with it but at the end of the day, better to have a finished quilt that I like than another UFO......
Decision made!
I was delighted and surprised to discover this morning that my lillies flowered again this year despite very little rain.
More pretty clivias too.
Enjoy your week....I am off to stitch a little  binding.
Namaste and Blessings Michelle xxx

  1. Your decision is a good one as it looks beautiful. So deflating when one runs out of fabric.

  5. It will be lovely, and at the end of the day, it has to be something you are happy with, even if it ends up being somewhat smaller wall hanging :-) I love your clivias, that's something we can grow only inside. But they can get too big for that, and I had to give mine away, but now I am sorry I did not keep some "babies", because the original came from my mum. I just have to get another one.

Is that your Gardener's Journal you are sewing the binding on ??
    Beautiful blooms in your garden.

  7. I think those two borders will finish it off beautifully Michelle... sensible move to just finish it rather than continuing to agonise over a quilt you're not loving :-) Woot woot another finish coming up!!

  8. Love the borders you've chosen for Brinton Hall. Yes a finish is better than a ufo. :) Glad to see your bloom. Mine a blossoming too. The hippies & the clivia are the only thing blooming really in my garden though i was happy to find one of the Frangipanis had flowered. Hugs,xx

  10. A wise decision - patchwork/quilting is meant to be enjoyable - not a chore!

  12. Go with what you feel. It's a beautiful quilt as is and the pattern is only a guide. Finished is also really good, not as a UFO.

  15. I think that is a smart decision regarding the quilt. If you are not happy, change the plan and go with what works.
