Yesterday my stitching friends met up at our friend Kays place. It was almost a full house. My friend Lorel has been my partner in crime during the Splendid Sampler Challenge.
I got to see Lorels beautiful version yesterday for the first time. Lorel did a mammoth effort completing all 100 blocks plus all the bonus blocks...hence the size discrepancy lol! The dilemma was how to photograph them together as they are quite big.....clever Kay had us hang over the verandah while she photographed us from below.
We are two very happy stitchers indeed. It was so very nice to stitch this together.
It was a lovely day. Chatting, some stitching and delicious food...bonus was lots of licks and cuddles from a brand new fur baby in residence. Thanks Paparazzi Kay xx
Well folks today it is bucketing down....Tropical Cyclone Debbie has decided to drop by with some torrential rain!
We have large wet moving puddles everywhere and it is apparently not letting up anytime soon.
All our schools in SE Queensland have been closed due to the very hazardous conditions. Lots of flooding everywhere. So no venturing out here today. Staying put! Cooking a big pot of chicken and vegie soup and stitching.
Yoga done this morning and walking will have to be in house today.
Please stay safe family and friends.
Namaste and Blessings Michelle xxx
Lovely to have a stitching day with friends, both your quilts are amazing...the paparazzi did a wonderful job!! Keep safe in all the rain Michelle, staying home sounds like a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteCertainly a lot of fun & games out there today - the quilts look great side by side...so much more motivating to do it with friends.

After months of hot and dry, it sure is wet hereabouts! What a great day you had and those Splendid Samplers are so beautiful. Planning something warm in a pot here too!

A wet day here too, but thankfully not as bad as it was further north! Those two versions of the same quilt are so interesting together, and so different.
ReplyDeleteBoth the quilts look amazing...well done both of you.great photo too.
ReplyDeleteThe rain has been non stop...great for sewing but keep greeting distracted....my excuse...stay safe...
Funny how that sort of weather entices us to make soup lol. It is wet and cool here and I am making soup for tea. Looooove both the quilts.
ReplyDeleteWow those quilts are gorgeous, you two ladies should be so proud of yourselves (lots of clapping here) all I have done is saved onto my computer. Thanks for sharing, I'm loving all the free water. Take care. Guida
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts look amazing. Well done.
ReplyDeleteLovely quilts, both so different. That is one of the joys of patchwork I think. Your quilt becomes unique through your choice of fabric and layout, even though the pattern was the same.
ReplyDeleteBoth quilts are beautiful. Hugs,xx
ReplyDeleteYour two quilts are amazing... well done both of you.... Keep safe... it's been wet here but nothing like yours....
ReplyDeleteHugz
How lovely to see both quilts and to know they came from the same design but are so different. They are both amazing.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have been watching your weather. Try to keep your feet dry and make the most of being inside.
Two beautiful quilts - lovely to see the two different versions together. I hope you stay safe too Michelle. xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts ... hope TC Debbie didn't cause too much damage around you x
ReplyDeleteLos quilts son preciosos! Me alegro que disfrutases con tus amigas. He visto en las noticias de la televisión de mi país los grandes destrozos del ciclón en el tuyo. Espero que tu, tu familia y amigos estéis bien. Un beso
ReplyDeleteThe Splendid Sampler quilts are both gorgeous and "splendid"....stitching with friends is always a great day.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo - two amazing quilts there Michelle - what a great way to photograph them.

ReplyDelete2 Gorgeous quilts there Michelle.....
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the two quilts hanging side by sie - how different they look in the different fabrics....but definitely both related! Love that last meme thing - it would be great on a label or I can see it made up into a hanging on my wall - perfect for a house full of quilts - and to let the family know why I cant stop sewing!! hehe
