Are you a rereader of favourite books or are you a oncer! I am the first. I tend to take stories to my heart, fall in love with their characters and I love to revisit them from time to time. One of those is this one...
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd is a beautiful story. I have taken myself on a little visit back to it's pages...love it. It has been made into a movie also which I really enjoyed....it's always a worry that you will be disappointed. But I wasn't. What's one of your favourites to revisit?
I have been stitching too!
I put aside my stitchery to see if I could put together a Dresden Plate that complemented the stitcheries and fabrics I showed you last post....
I think it's not too bad. This one is truly organic...it's evolving as I go along...just hope they don't overpower the stitchery now! Oh decisions, decisions! I wonder what it's like to be a rational and organised thinker lol! Only time will tell.
Better get the last stitchery finished. So I can see how this is going to come together...hhmm?
My Furry Logic flipover for today says it best....
Enjoy your day.
Namaste and Blessings Michelle xxx
I haven't read that book but own the DVD & I have watched it several times, so good! Sara Donati Into the wilderness series has been a re read for me, like you I fell in love with the characters. Loving that cute Dresden. happy summer days to you.
ReplyDeleteI am a re-reader of favourites like you Michelle, love to re read all my old faves. Have you read the two books by Jojo Moyes ... the first one is called Me before You ?? They are great stories but you will need your tissues handy. Loving your new stitching.
ReplyDeleteI have that book on my shelf somewhere and remember enjoying it. I also like the film. I think it had Dakota Fanning in it? I put Crosstitch away but am now watching the TV series. Only got through half the book and just couldn't get into it. LOve your little flipover saying.
ReplyDeleteLove your cute little Dresden - will suit perfectly I think. I always keep books I love so I can re-read
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff, and warm grettings!
ReplyDeleteI am a rereader but very selective on what I reread! My favourites are by Mary Wesley and they are what I read when I am ill - easy reading with brilliant stories and quirky characters. There are lots of other books I want to read again but my pile of books to read increases at a faster rate that my time to read them! I have heard of that book though and will add it to my wish list for sometime. Pretty Dresden. xx
ReplyDeleteOh dear I think I will re read a book but never have Michelle! I find that new ones keep coming along and I just can't get to reread! A bit like Lin above!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Dresden you have made Michelle. Love the Secret Life of Bees bothe the book and dvd...have watched the dvd several times now. I am usually a once reader but if I find a movie I love I will watch it many times..Remember the Titans is one such movie, I also have a boxed set of Keeping up Appearances, love that and often put it on if I need a laugh.
ReplyDeleteI've just ordered the book and dvd from the library... thanks for the tip. I do so little reading these days. love the sewing coming together...

Hi Michelle,oh I haven't heard of that book, hope you enjoy it,love your dresdens and lol love the last pic, enjoy your day my friend xx
ReplyDeleteI started this book as a ebook from the library but sadly I wasn't quick enough to finish it and the waiting list is so long I think i may have to go buy it . I have reread books especially when I was a kid , I read much more then . I have reread Gone with the Wind a couple of times and watched the movie more times than enough.
ReplyDeleteGreat project looks like a good book 💖💙😍
ReplyDeleteI tend to read most books once only but on the odd occasion have gone back to read again.I have been loving having good reading time since the rush of Christmas has been over.
ReplyDeleteYour little dresden is gorgeous.
Hey Michelle! I'm definitely a re-reader! Some of my favourite books I've lost track of how many times I've read them. My faves vary hugely ... Feist and Eddings for fantasy fiction, Kerry Greenwood for Aussie crime with humourous and Nora Roberts for romance with a whiff of otherworldly. Did I mention that I am a bookworm of the highest order?! :0) Best thing I ever did was change to digital on the iPad ... now I can carry my whole library with me!! :0) Looking forward to seeing your new design ... my best designs all evolve as I go along ... we follow the muse wherever she leads! Tee! Hee! Hee! Have fun - Bear Hugs! KRIS xx
