I got one side done and halfway up the other. I didn't linger too long I am afraid as after babysitting duties and Grandparents day at my eldest Grandson's school ...
this Nana was a tad weary. So I am sure that I was tucked up in bed whilst you partied on. I shall check later folks. Thank you Wendy for hosting us again x
I did make progress on drawing up my applique blocks and cut out the background fabrics on Thursday. All good to go now.
I am looking forward to playing with these. Just have to break the news to Mr R that he will once again be tripping over the French General fabric box..hehehe! Well it takes time to choose just the right piece for applique...or is that just me?
That's it from me.
I wish you a relaxing weekend.
Namaste and Blessings Michelle xxx
Lovely hexi border going on there. What a shame you had to rip it all out and start again. I'm sure that it will look fabulous finished.
ReplyDeleteUnpicking........"Oh Bother" Pooh would say! Nice time with the grandies.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Reverse stitching isn't as much fun somehow. At least you enjoyed your grand children to ease the pain.
ReplyDeleteDear Michelle,
ReplyDeletebetter unpicking then having to look at something not quiet right for the duration of the quilts life. So sorry for you. But looking at your applique patterns, there is something really exciting coming up. Can't wait to see more.
Greetings,
Sylvia
I'm sure you were having lots of creative thoughts while reverse sewing and its worth getting it right. What a handsome boy your grandson is!
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating to be back at the beginning. What a lovely way to spend the day being "grandma".
ReplyDeleteGRRRR!!!! sew annoying to have to unpick....
ReplyDeleteBet you had a lovely time at Nana Day even though you get tired...
Damn that unsewing, but it has to be done. And some time down the track it will be forgotten. Worth it to get it right.
ReplyDeleteWorth the unpicking as you would never be happy with it. Your grandchildren do look gorgeous. It is the eyes.
ReplyDeleteUnpicking is always annoying...good on you for persevering and then getting quite a bit of the re stitching done.
ReplyDeleteTun picking is never fun, but I'm sure you slept better for having it done and restarted. It's looking beautiful. It's usually me tripping over my own boxes of fabric!
ReplyDeleteBummer about the unpicking... It is spectacular ❤️💚😍
ReplyDeleteIt's looking rather lovely despite the unpicking, and after looking after the grandchildren us grandmothers certainly need some extra beauty sleep.
ReplyDeletegrr....unpicking ..but when it's sewn in the right way oh how good does that feel :)

ReplyDeleteFunny how we forget that pesky 1/4" seam for the binding..Love the pic of the grandies
ReplyDeleteThe loveliest or reasons for being weary :)
ReplyDeleteAnnoying but better to find the error now rather than later ... such pretty fabrics.
I bet you are happy to have that unsewing chore taken care of! Grandkids are tiring but oh so much fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame about that border! Sounds like you had a busy day though. xx
ReplyDeleteOh darn - unpicking is so fruitless!!! but a lovely day with the grandies.
ReplyDeleteCan't see a problem with a box of French Generals!!! Unpicking is a bugger but at least you will be happier than if you left it undone. Hope you got a good rest after such a big day.... Marilyn's shop really is beautiful...just wish I lived closer to visit it more often. Xox
