But I suppose as we have them at Christmas???? I make the old favourite "crushed pineapple" fruitcake as my family are not fond of the rich dark traditional cake. This oldie but goody seems to disappear without a crumb left so I see no need to change it.

we love the boiled pinapple fruit cake too but the pages stuck together a couple of months ago and i havent been able to make it since,i am a silly duffer,lol.xx

Doesn't every family have their own version of what the best Christmas cake is? The pineapple one sounds delicious. I have definitely tried to reduce the stress around Christmas this year, and so far it seems to be working. I think my family would rather I was relaxed than stressing over the perfect Christmas. X

ReplyDeleteI love a traditional Fruit cake - and pudding - but as we have a small celebration and most don't like them I don't make them...though I still have my grandmothers recipes incase I feel the urge...but so far we have been given 1 cake and 3 puddings - guess we better eat some of it!!
