Hello Victoria !!

Today is quite special for us you see it is our Anniversary and folks we have been married lets just say a verrry loong time!!!
We awoke to a very brisk and breezey morning with a lovely sunrise at Lake Talbot after showers overnight.
We again headed south and encountered a few more showers along the way...morning tea was a very cold and quick affair beside the Mairjimmy Lagoon at Jerilderie.
Lunch saw us at Tocumwal, a very cute town in my opinion with lots of beautiful old heritage buildings like this one which had my name written all over it. ( we actually got hailed on by the tiniest hail stones I have ever seen but hail stones they were)
I have to say a few purchases were made....oh so lovely! Whilst Mr R was having his picture taken in front of this big Murray Cod (what is it about men and big fish???) the smell of yummy pasties wafted over from the Bakery across the road and so what could we do but give in....and a hot Latte and a pastie went down a treat. Oh almost forgot the "fish"..and once again the Murray River is not far away just over that rise behind the fish.
Tonight we are camped beside the Murray River on the Victorian side and a short few paces through the trees from our campsite is this view.
oh and this one..you know how I can't resist a gnarled old tree.
and the sun setting...just so pretty.
Yours truly...like a frozen frog on a log.
While we were there we had a little feathery visitor flitting here and there and determined to be noticed...

You know how partial I am to little birdies and "Willy Wag-tail" was just so sweet I could not resist.
We also encountered a couple of idiots trying to do a 'together selfie'. Some people should just not be allowed out alone...never mind with a camera.
We have had a lovely day despite the weather. Topped off by a very nice steak dinner to celebrate our Anniversary in beautiful down town Echuca.
Echuca is our home for the next couple of days and we are hoping to take a river paddle steamer cruise and I of course want to check out the Patchwork shop.
A very chilly good night all.
Blessings Michelle xxx

  4. You are certainly seeing varied countryside on your trip through NSW. Just a point though - Mairjimmy Lagoon at Jerilderie is where you had morning tea. The Murray is well south at Tocumwal. A lovely place to have morning tea though - I stop in there each time I go through Jerilderie. Enjoy your travels through Victoria - another type of countryside again!

  13. Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs. R.

Looks like you found the perfect way to spend the day. You would have had me eating out of the palm of your hand at Antique Shop-never mind chucking in the bakery too.

Why am I always so excited when someone does a post that involves food?
