I am a little late with my FTF but it is still Friday. My favourite today is a result of our road trip through Central Australia last year. I am what you call in Winter....a frog! I hate being cold! So when preparing for our trip I had that much warm bedding (which was very toasty) that we could not shut the lid on the camper. This meant that every time we moved on I would have to unmake our bed and remake it when we got where we were going which quite frankly sent me barking mad. Advice was garnered from our more seasoned camping friends and we decided a double sleeping bag was in order. We have been watching for specials and this week....YaY! Anaconda had them for 1/2 price and we had a discount voucher as well. So we rushed over and .....
no more bulky bedding and it squishs down to almost nothing and is suitable for 0 degrees. We are now all set for our road trip later in the year. What's your favourite thing today. I am linking up with SHAY to see what others are favouring today.
I am on Day 5 of my Meditation challenge and have to say I am loving it. You can still sign up if you are interested. You can read about it here www.chopracentermeditation.com
I have spent the day drawing and stitching these.
I have also been sorting out and packing our van for a little break away. I am taking my bears with me to stitch so they don't get put back in the cupboard and I also have the latest book in the Woody Creek series by Aussie author Joy Dettman.
I am saving it and haven't even read the back cover which has been hard as the last book ended with a real cliff hanger. I will be popping in and reading your blogs but may not post much.
We are really looking forward to it as we have both been pretty flat out since way before Christmas and need some time to ourselves. I hope the weather plays nice too.
Take care of yourself and be kind to each other.
Blessings Michelle xxx

ReplyDeletegreat buy, does this mean there won't be any photos of you in bed with a beanie, gloves and numerous warm layers?

You are doing well to not peek at the back cover of the book, Michelle. (very tempting I am sure). Sleeping bag sounds good. Have a lovely time away.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break.....and your reading and stitching.
ReplyDeleteI love nothing better than taking a good book and some stitching where ever I go. Have a lovely break.
ReplyDeleteThat new sleeping bag will be perfect Michelle, although I always seem to get myself all tangled up in sleeping bag somehow lol. Have a lovely break and hope you get lots of lovely stitching done

Oh me too... I L-O-A-T-H-E the cold. You should be nice and warm in the new bag... so I hope you enjoy your time away when it's needed. Enjoy the get-away coming up too!
ReplyDeleteA sleeping bag is definitely the way to go! We have bags for our little caravan and it does simplify van life.
ReplyDeleteThat sleeping bag looks so comfortable Michelle,I hope you have a great trip.I will have to put an order in at the library now, I haven't had Joy Dettman's latest in " The Woody Creek"series yet, I wonder if this will be the last.

Thanks for the meditation challenge link. I am going to check it out. Have fun on your getaway and stay toasty!
ReplyDeleteSo pleased you solved your blanket /sleeping dilemma . I had a sleeping bag as a kid but I understand they’ve gone all high tech in the 40 years since then !
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your mini break. Looking forward to seeing pictures. (if you can tear yourself away from your book!)
Have a safe trip. Sounds like the sleeping bag is a winner. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThe double sleeping bag sounds wonderful; and if it keeps you warm at 0, how wonderful! Once when camping, my husband and I crawled into one sleeping bag together because we were so cold. Even that couldn't keep us warm. We almost gave up and went home, but fortunately it warmed up a little and we didn't freeze our bums off.
ReplyDeleteLove your idea for a double sleeping bag. Hope you enjoy your trip.

I hope you have a wonderful "break".
