Bronwyns theme for Floral Friday is Roses and as they are one of my Favourite things (even though I can't grow any) I am combining some Favourite things with Roses on them.
First is an old Hat box that came my way and I decided to paint Roses and one of Tracey design on it. I have to fess up whilst I did most of it. I did get some assistance from Tracey with the finishing touches on the Roses (left my glasses at home that day) I never heard the end of it that painting day! Next I have some beautiful cards featuring paintings of Roses by Pierre Joseph Redoute'. I think they are truly beautiful and have to confess find it hard to part with them at times. Lastly I have 3 little saucers I bought for $3 at an antique store in Maling Road in Melbourne when my friend Ann and I went on our Girly Road Trip a few years ago.I loved that place it was full to the rafters of all sorts of bric-a-brac and beautiful antique pieces. I bought a couple of pieces for my Cranberry collection there too. We had the best Road Trip ever. It was my first visit to Victoria and boy did we cover some KMS. I think that's when I fell in love with country Victoria.
So pop over to Bronwyns at http://korumburraquilting.blogspot.com/ to see what Floral Feasts she has for our senses today and then zoom over to Shays at http://faitybreadmusings.blogspot.com/ to see what Favourites are on offer.
Happy Stitching and Blessings,

With you on that - love roses, but have never really grown them successfully - well not for very long. Still love to look at them!
ReplyDeleteLovely things Michelle i love them all
ReplyDeleteLove that hat box. Not bad for no specs! Aren't those cards just too gorgeous. I'd frame them all I think. We used to go to the church which was in the old picture theatre in Maling Rd about 35 years ago! It was a dingy old place with a milk bar, supermarket and a second hand shop. Look at it now! Wow there's a transformation for ya.
ReplyDeleteYour hat box is beautiful. Love all your rose things. Roses are hard to grow for me too. So last year I bought some knock out roses. And this year they are beautiful

Beautiful hat box! thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post. Your roses are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy this post Michelle. your Hat box is beautiful, the cards and Rose China also. Maling Road has always been one of my favorite places, There used to be a lovely Patchwork shop in Theatre Place called Primarily Patchwork, It has gone now, I made my first large Quilt there. Cheers R
ReplyDeleteMaling Road has to be the place to go nowadays. My boss lives at the opposite end to all the lovely shops but I never get there. Love the hat box
ReplyDeleteMust say I am partial to a lovely rose bush, not that I have any, my husband pulled them all out when the kids were on the way. The house we have was full of lots of old style roses that had an unbelievable amount of thorns so my ever cautious hubby pulled them out.
ReplyDeleteThe hat box is beautiful and the cards are worth framing.
ReplyDeleteI love roses...love all your beautiful'rosie' things!!!lol
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job on your roses...why is you can't grow them......allergies. I love plates and especially plates with roses or rooster on them. Trish
ReplyDeleteRoses are just so elegant arent they? I cant grow them to save myself.
ReplyDeleteI love those cards -the colours are so vibrant! And those saucers are so beautiful. I think it's wonderful that you're using them as a decorative statement instead of hoarding them away in a dark cupboard.
Im a big fan of country Victoria too-my family are from there originally and we spent stacks of time there when I was a kid.
Thanks for popping into FTF this week Michelle. You always have something wonderful to share.
I love roses but find it too difficult to grow them here.
ReplyDeleteI love your hat box and the rose cards.
