Good Morning all from (rainy) old Brisbane today. I have been slaving over instructions and assembling patterns this morning and decided to take a break and have a cuppa with you for a while. I also wanted to tell you something rather exciting about my Family. I have been hugging a gorgeous secret to my heart since last year. I am going to be a Nana again not
Once but
Twice very soon. The first little person is coming in about 10 weeks and the second about a month after that....so we are doubly blessed and just can't wait to meet them both on the outside. It has been so hard to keep from blabbing I can tell you.
So of course quilts are needed and both my girls are very different. DIL loves bright and funky colours particularly red while DD likes more pastels and is definitely a fan of pink. So here is what I have done so far.
I still have some bright flowers to applique around this Beary Faerie and I am going to reverse the bear and change the flowers for butterflies in the 2nd quilt and I am using these fabrics for No 2. so they will be a bit different.
As you may have guessed we have had the results of scans. Me I am hoping they are right ( please don't relay any stories to me about scans being wrong as I am sure I have heard them all) otherwise there will be some panels quickly purchased and they will be getting in touch with their feminine sides early. I could not decide what to do for ages but I am happy now with my Happy Bear Faerie and hope they will be too.
I have enjoyed my cuppa with you but it is back to the instruction writing now.
I do hope wherever you are you get to do something you love.

That is such a cute Beary Faery. So lovely that they can be the same but different. That is such exciting news,to have 2 little ones to welcome. We will have just one, in about 13 weeks time. They are not finding out what they are having so hmmm...... what does a person do.

How very exciting for you. The quilts look wonderful and I hope the scans are correct.Think they manage them pretty well these days.. they even give 3 or is it 4D pics! Hoep the prospective mums keep well.

that is such awesome news Michelle your 2nd buby is due around the same time as our DD2 baby,and we are rapt as the scan showed a baby boy and we have 4 girls and 2 boys so this will be nice,i am so excited for you,lots of little frills now.xx

Congratulations!!! Wow two that is exciting. Your bear is lovely. I hadn't heard about scans being wrong... heck I hope not, I've just done a boy quilt for my new great great nephew who will hopefully be here in April. Hugs xx
Well congratulations, I don't know how you kept quiet about it so long....personally, I don't see why these colors wouldn't do for either gender.......my son has a pink shirt he loves to wear and he is a manly man soldier.....I've seen entire fire departments here wear pink shirts in October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. That said, I do know that young mothers have their own tastes and desires. My daughter didn't want her little girl to wear pinks and laces, etc. I made an afghan that was all lacy and soft and pretty and before I even got to the finished stage, she said she hoped it wasn't for her baby. So, I've put it away to give to the Princess when she has a baby of her own. And guess what, the Princess turned out to be a girly girl in spite of her mother's wishes.
I love the Bear of course and would love to have the pattern.

Such wonderful, exciting news Michelle - two new little grandies to spoil. Having two little granddaughters, little girls are such fun, and I know you have grandsons, and they are just as cute. The Bearie Fairie quilts are going to be gorgeous
